has anyone seen him? or seen his footprints? what do you fellas think?
-
My dad is totally convinced we have seen his footprints in the snow. I cannot deny nor confirm what they were. I have never seen anything like them ever, but I have a hard time swallowwing the whole bigfoot concept.
-
If he were around I am sure one of us on here would have shot one by now! I know a few guys with some pretty weird stories that are reputable dudes but who knows? Someone needs to get a bigfoot smiley deal on the smiley deal!
-
I thought those two idiots down here in Georgia found the hairy beast!? :dunno: :dunno: :P  :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
I could believe it... lol and I think some higher ups know about them to... just like the wolves! haha
Michael

There are quite a few guys that have property in the Blues or hunt the Blues that will swear they have seen him and these are stand up guys and no they weren't drunk. I personally have seen nothing and don't believe a word of it.
-
MY UNCLES SAY THEY SAW SOMETHING GRAB A ROCK AND CHUCK IT DOWN A HILL. AFTER IT LEFT MY UNCLE WENT UP TO THE TREE IT WAS STANDING BY AND SAID THE LIMB ABOVE ITS HEAD WAS AROUND 8 FEET TALL. STILL TODAY THEY SWEAR THEY SAW SOMETHING. ?

Friend and I came across some foot prints last year in the Olympic National Forest..... found them to be interesting.....
-
Teddy Roosevelt believed why can't you?
-
My mom and dad were bumpin nasties in a VW back in the 70's and had a bigfoot tap on the roof and look in the window. Dad had to pick mom up and move her to the passenger seat she was so scared. People flew in from everywhere to find it. Kind of funny that in the same river drainage I had a similar experiance, not bumping nasties but with a run in with something that could throw big rocks into the river. I havent been back since. I dunno.........anyone want to go look for him with me?

I believe bigfoot might exist...........(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg2.mysmiley.net%2Fimgs%2Fsmile%2Fparty%2Fparty0033.gif&hash=36332232b23de78a2ab3900123dcfb8f7eed55f6) (http://www.mysmiley.net/free-sick-smileys.php)

Hey. New to the super site! Lived and hunted around Buckley my whole life along with two generations before me. Have quite a few reputable stories and one first hand east of Packwood. 11 years ago, elk huntin' with my brother-in-law, he walked up on one, not within sight, but it let out one hell of a scream like nothing you have ever heard. Unlike anything known to any man I know. I think he got too close for this things comfort and it was letting him know it. I was 1/4 mile away in some big timber, as were they and it was incredibly loud (makes all the hair on your neck stand right up) even to me. Cary, my brother-in-law, can stalk in on anything and he was within 20 yards of this thing, never knowing it was there. No rock chucking though, it vanished without a sound on a extremely steep and rocky slide area in the timber. mtn.goat

hey goat. i saw a footprint last year in the mud in idaho.we didnt slow down or take pictures .just said "hey look a bigfoot track" my buddys said "yup". we hiked for another day and a half to get out of that valley. i believe
-
I have not personally had any encounters, but i will say I'm open minded enough to think it could be possible they exist.
-
Don't believe anymore...used to as a kid. There are far too many people in the woods each day of the year all over the country (not to mention roads) for one not to be shot, hit, found dead, etc.
If you use Google Earth, you can turn on a layer for the Bigfoot Society (or something like that) and it puts placemarks all over hell and gone with short descriptions of the sighting, date, time, etc. These aren't remote areas either, some near Lacey and Olympia, WA, etc.

rasbo, camp seven on Lake Cavannaugh road?

HOW COME NOBODY HAS EVER FOUND ANY EVIDENCE FOR ANY OF THESE CREATURES. "LOCKNESS" "YETTI" "SWAMP APE" "ABOMINABLE SNOW MAN" "CHUPACABRA" "OGOPOGO" AND WHO KNOWS HOW MANY OTHERS. SEEMS LIKE AT LEAST ONE OF THESE WOULD HAVE BEEN FOUND BY NOW.
CAN YOU SAY CROCK OF CRAP.
IF JUST ONE OF THESE IS EVER DETERMINED TO BE REAL BASED ON AN ACTUAL LIVING OR DEAD SPECIMEN THEN I WILL BELIEVE IN THE REST. UNTIL THEN I THINKS ITS ALL A BUNCH OF GARBAGE.

WHY ARE YOU TYPING IN ALL CAPS? DOESN'T IT SEEM LIKE YOU'RE A LITTLE ANGRY????
Michael
-
I just tried telling him on another post! Maybe he doesn't know that typing in all caps means he is yelling at us! ;)
-
Myself and a friend were fishing Merrill lake up by Cougar and had a weird experience. It was after dark and we were on the lake in our catarafts, and something started throwing large rocks in the lake. They were BIG rocks. Big enough that you could hear them splash and hit the rock bottom. We were on the back side of the lake, and we were the only people camped at the campground. I paddled over and hit the bank with my flashlight but as soon as I did the rock throwing stopped. I was a little unnerved because the rocks sounded big enough that a regular person couldn't lift them. I don't really believe in the Squatch, but that was odd.
P.S.
We were passing a bottle of scotch at the time. But after the encounter, I lost my buzz. :chuckle:
-
Sorry, not yelling. Didn't know all caps was yelling :dunno:. Duly noted. :)

How many bear carcasses have you come across?

Great point... and theres sure a lot more bears out there!
-
Fanatic,
Same song second verse. Lake at the end of a 5 mile dirt road. Right after dark. BIG rocks. No light, no gun... fired up the Powerstroke and tried headlighting across the lake, but couldn't see anything.
Jefferson County.
-
Yes but you still see bears being shot all the time and you also see them killed on the highways too. How come Bigfoot has never been hit on the highway?
-
He's out there........... :twocents: He's a lot smarter then a bear....... :chuckle:
-
I believe, and if I see one it better not be a man in a suit because its gettin an arrow. lol
-
this was pretty damn far back in the gpw earlier in the summer at a little lake that i can't remember the name of... prolly a mile or so from the trail. print only has 4 toes? i dunno what the hell made it but it wasn't very old. looked to have stepped out of the brush, in the sand then right in to the lake. no other tracks anywhere around. it looked kinda fake to me, needless to say the girlfriend made it VERY clear we were not camping there... i was ok with that. :dunno:

i had something throwing big basketball sized rocks at me and a friend once. we were camping around mt adams for a few days. and 2 of the 3 days we had weird encounters. once was a mile or so from camp on our way back from a hike to a lake. and the second was at night. we had the cooler setup away from camp and i was walking up to grab a couple drinks for the guys i was with (i was only 15 and didnt drink) and most of them were to drunk to even walk.
as i bent down to open the cooler something made a noise and stud up. it was about 1 foot taller then me and smelled worse then any of the guys i was with. they had been camping for 1 week with no showers :chuckle:. i took off running scared *censored*less.
it had rained that night before this encounter, and then next morning we checked for prints and found nothing. strangley enough the 10" round tree our cooler was chained to was broken over and the lip to the cooler was ripped off.
the encounter with the rock throwing was with us walking along a very steep slope. the top of this slope was all rock with most being about the size of a basketball and some alot bigger. there was a line of trees about 70ft or so along this trail with nothing up hill or below the trees. as we got halfway along the slope a couple rocks hit the trees infront of us. now usually it wouldnt bug me but these rocks hit about 30ft above us in the trees. no possible way for them to get that much momentum and bounce off the hill to hit that hi. as the top of the hill was only 40yd or so above us. we stood there just looking up in pure shock not having any idea what had just happened. the scary part was just about to happen. as we were just standing there looking up another rock came flying over there edge right towards up. it sure didnt take long for us to get the hell out of there.
now i was never interested in bigfoot and really i am not now. i had no idea what he/she was known for so i figured it was just people f'n with us.
a couple months later i watched my first bigfoot show. and there were talking about im throwing big rocks and smelling very bad and also knocking over small trees in a pattern sence to mark areas.
strange to say the least
-
Not saying anyone didn't experience all the rocks, etc. but I need to see one dead on the ground, or bones that don't match any creature in North America based on DNA testing.
Footprints are easy to fake. Mechanical weathering can trigger unexpected rock slides and the occassional boulder breaking loose. Again, not calling anyone a liar, just saying it's possible for rocks to come tumbling down unexpectedly. It's happened for millions of years on steep slopes. Now, if you're on flat ground and a 150 pound rock comes at you sideways, then I think there's something compelling to investigate!
Would love to think there's something out there but logic says otherwise. They have to eat, poop, drink, etc., just like the rest of us and every living creature on earth. No concrete evidence exists anywhere to prove they exist. This day and age, I don't even believe video footage no matter how "real" it appears. If Hollywood can make outerspace battles look real, I'm pretty sure someone can make a realistic jiggly video of a Bigfoot eating whistle pigs or some other tasty nugget.
Just my pesimistic opinion ;)

The rocks that I had hitting the water were one at a time and lasted for a couple minutes, at a rate of a rock per 20 seconds or so. I couldnt see them, it was just around the corner. I was thinking maybee it could have been a beaver slapping his tail on the water though :dunno: Sounded more like big rocks to me though. But when your scared your mind begins to wander a bit :chuckle: BIGFOOT! :yike:
-
I beleive, he lives on Offutt Lake Road. I used to go calling with him, at least he said he was using a call to make them sounds.
He goes by the :chuckle: name Bearmanric! you talk about smelly!

yeah the rocks i had flying at me had no possible way of breaking that far away from the slope and at that distance. they would have had to shoot straight out from the top of the slope to make it that far up the tree in a that short of a drop.

I must admit something to you guys, last year I was out looking for the Bigfoot. I was up in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. I was on a ridge hot on his trail and it was getting late. So I marked my last position on the GPS and started heading back to the truck. About 4 miles from the truck I heard something behind me. I turned around with the surefire and looked into the bush, but nothing so I kept going. About two miles from the truck I entered a meadow and out of the sky came a really bright light. The next thing I remembered was waking up on a table in what looked like a surgery room. I noticed movement around me and when my eyes came into focus I saw them. Little pale aliens with big black eyes. They poked me and prodded me and ....well I am not going to give you guys the details. Next thing I remember was waking up in what seemed like a recovery room and guess who was there on the bed next to me.............Elvis! I asked him ''what he was doing'' and he said ''these little guys are real cool and he decided to stay with them and not come back to earth.'' He said they wanted to show me a few things before they dropped me off. So we went to a viewing room with a window in it. We flew into the water I think somewhere in the Mediterranean and we saw some mermaids. They were HOT! Next we flew to go see Nessy, she is real big and a really good swimmer. After that we saw vampires, wherewolves and alien/human crossbreads! Then they took me back to my truck. When I got off of the spaceship Elvis said "hey" so I turned around and he said " don't waste your time looking for bigfoot because he doesn't exist!" I said thanks and drove home. Sorry I had to do this! :chuckle:
-
I just spit Pepsi all over my computer screen :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Whew...just got in from a long day at work. I make Crop Circles for a living and business is good!

BC CHASER I can't believe that you went looking for bigfoot without me, I thought we were best friends. Thanks a lot :'( :nono: :mor: :sas: :liar: :bs: :bs: :bs:

That was some funny chit right there! haha

I crawled in bed last night and when I turned over fuggin big foot was sleeping next to me, than it rolled over and growled a few times and said (honey don't forget to set youre alarm)

Some other reasons not to believe. Aside from; no bones, no body. Which is enough for me.
The description of the critter would leave him with quite an appetite. One that would lend him/her to needing to eat meat in addition to forage, especially in spring and summer when there's not going to be quality browse for an omnivore that weighs 600 lbs. So what? Well, anyone ever seen snow? It's that stuff that falls in spring and fall. Even if we didn't see the guy, his presence should be all but impossible to hide once it snows. Can he levitate? leave just 2 prints in the snow then get on his hover craft? Even hibernating animals (of which there are no primates) are active and about in times with snow. Where's the tracks?
Back to that hibernation thing. To believe in footasaurusrex you have to think it hibernates. The reason is that while there's a bunch of wilderness back country terrain a critter can hide in in summer, there isn't in winter. All the migrating Footuses would have to move to lowlands to follow the game. Even if they could live on Needles alone a huge bi-pede couldn't navigate in that much snow (I guess they have snow shoes too so they don't have to post hole?). Anyone ever have to post hole? Do you weigh 500 lbs? They'd have to move down or hibernate, where of course we would see their many tracks in the snow. But apparently what we have here is a 100% vegetarian primate, that can survive on pine/fir needles alone, that hibernates and leaves GIANT footprints in sand but floats over snow. Neat trick indeed.
Hmm I wonder, might it be that guys that want to create Bigusbig tracks can't do it in the snow because, well, they couldn't hide their own tracks while making them? Nahhhhhhh.
No den site ever been located? Not even an old one with hair. No turds (which would recover DNA). Not only is this critter evading modern technology, including trail cams... he's NEVER ever ever been found and preserved by Native Americans. They've never found his skull or femur. They never killed one and tanned it's hide. This thing has avoided for thousands of years even 1 piece of physical evidence ever being found while co-habitating with humans. Oh and then there's the viable population thing... This thing has maintained viability as a giant primate with our inherent low birth rates and long investment in bringing youth to both physical and sexual maturity. It has managed to avoid extinction at an unbelievably low population spread across huge amounts of habitat.
There are more reasons to ignore this, but that's plenty for now.
-
If bigfoot doesn't exist why is it illegal to kill one. Also if there is no bigfoot and people knew that then we would face more traffic in our hunting grounds, so maybe its best that people in general remain scared of it.
-

Snowspeeders...or possibly the Millenium Falcon. It all makes sense, the physcial descriptions of bigfoot are identical to a Wookie!!!
Its well known that the Wookies return to their home planet Kashyyyk during the winter via snowspeeders or in Chewy's case the Millenium Falcon! my :twocents: jk jk

I personally do not know one person who is afraid to go into the woods because of bigfoot. That's a new one to me! :chuckle:

I do it's Tallchief
-
how much time do u all spend in the back country. living in a large logging comunity and not beleiving in bigfoot or the possibilty is unheard of. 90% of the loggers ive talked to who spend 90% of their time up in the back country beleive in bigfoot even if they aint seen they have friends or co-workers who claim to. i even have a friend who claims he seen something but refuses to beleive it was bigfoot. and that is the only one who claims to have seen something that is considered strange. and as far as the car thing how do u know omnes never been hit i hit a bear once at 45 miles an hour wrecked my truck but the bear up and ran off relize that the arangotang is about 5 times as strong as a man and not as near the size of a bigfoot so if someone did hit one and it just pissed him off u might find the vehicle 100 yards in the woods ......... not to mention there are many huge primate skulls found that scientist claim are extinct primates although trilobites was thought to be extinct for thopusands of years untill recently ......... btw upto short time ago there was tribes that didnt beleive white man existed although there was sightings of them.... imagine how unbeleivable the first sightings of whiteman stories had to be to native americans
-
"not to mention there are many huge primate skulls found that scientist claim are extinct primates" In the USA? Also, skulls can be dated and some are "fossilized" meaning they're really rock now. It's pretty easy to establish that the gigantopithecus is in fact extinct and that it's skulls are ancient. They find T Rex and Mastadon bones too, it's not evidence there's a few left.
Those tribes that didn't believe in white man were sequestered by geography and technology. I'm not sure how that's analogous?
Also, we have infra-red technology now too. You can fly over the forrest with IR sensors and make out clearly; deer, elk, bears etc. Are they cold blooded too?
I don't discount what people believe they have seen. But I'm aware that people are notoriously and scientifically bad eye witnesses under stress. I'm sure people think they've seen him and I'm sure it doesn't exist.
-
I'm honestly neither here nor there, I think the legend is fun, but to counterpoint myself... 1.) There's nothing more unnerving and creepy than thick brush, dark timber canopy, steep difficult terrain, and a dark wet miserable day. The PNW is the only place you have all in the same place, at the same time, often. And 2.) There's a Grizzley Bear at the Olympic Game Farm that can throw rocks.
-
Maybe, Maybe not. I'm not ready to say Bigfoot positively dose not exist. To many sightings to rule it out.
-
the only thing unnerving in the pnw west is the idea of some ass with a gun mistaking me for a deer... second they also dated the trilobites to thousand of years ago so ur point is ........... my point is is bigfoot can very pausibly be something that we beleive to be extinct... oh and btw just how much of the pnw has had someone flying over at all times of day and night with infared......... oh here is another question why was the mount st helens area so feard by native americans who claimed there was beast who had stories of great haired beast that ate people in that region. why was it more feard then other regions around... and why is the so many scientist paying so much to investigate the possibility of the bigfoot and skunk ape and and other such research into large unknown primates around the world........... hell who knows maybe bigfoot is nothing more thenj aliens who come to torment people in the woods throwing rocks and screaming then going back taking and keeping servaleince on us going hey look at them stupid fools they are still looking for us ..................... always possible........ thats the point nothing is impossible no matter how inprobable
-
Look how long it has taken for people to realize that we have wolves in Washington state. My dad saw wolves in the 70's in this state. But if you asked an official they didn't exist, or you must have seen a big coyote, or some other excuse. Most people out there have never been more than a mile from a road. Think how much there is out there past that mile. I really thought about this a lot when I drove back from Alaska this year, 400 miles at a time of nothing, no one. Why couldn't there be a relatively smart primate out there. Even if they had the intelligence of an ape they would have the concept of what a predator is "man" and try and avoid it. Besides, its kind of fun to think there is something else out there. From a scientific point of view the U of I has hair evidence and DNA evidence from British Columbia of a non known primate. Until some brings one in dead the world will not believe.
I shoot at the gun range in Republic all the time and there is an oldtimer that hands out down there (he can shoot a pistol better than anyone I've ever seen) and has some very convincing stories of bigfoot from when he was a kid. One that really sticks out in his head was when he was helping develop the road across Sherman Pass in the 50's and the road crew saw a very large unknown creature cross the road ahead of them. His crew told him about it that afternoon. The next day he went up there and followed the tracks in the snow for over two miles. he was on cross-country skies. The animal crossed a log at one point that was a foot off the ground and had two feet of snow on it and didn't even graze the top of it. he obviously never found the animal. At one point he thought the animal started making odd loops and doubling back as if it new he was following him.
The Indians of the Res just to the south of Republic have always had a great respect for the beast. They also never hunt alone because of fear of the creature.
He had several other really good stories but I don't want to take up your entire day... :chuckle:
-
I actually find it more unnerving that someone who eats tofu, may succeed in taking away my hunting rights. Natives also used to think thunder was the gods being mad...go figure!
-
No one said I was afraid of it, I would say really interested....
:chuckle:

Getting back on the bigfoot track :chuckle:

Here are some good reads!!!

Those dark rainy days in the middle of nowhere dark timber is unnerving once you start thinking about sasquatch because you cant get it out of your head. sometimes i think i will see him behind a tree going like this :hello:
-
hell im more worried about having just feild dressed a dear and have a bear or cat stalk me. if bigfoot did step out in front of me or i caught a glimps of him then i would be in to much awe to fear him. then again if u fear whats out there then why u out there. btw new species of animals are being discovered all over the world. normaly not by infered but straight out hicking into places where their are no trail remote places where people dont go and u cant tell me that their aint places that are that remote here in wa state. there are places nbeleive it or not no man has walked through in a hounded years caves that aint been explored old mines that litter the pacific north west that people abandoned and never returned. the possibilities abound for bigfoot and untill every space is acupied at one time by man in was state then i will beleiev their is no pausibility
-

come on now shawn...i know damn well you have heard ALOT better stories from your clients and their "i didnt do it" lol

Maybe a bigfoot made a fake track with that stick next to it?

No sightings from me or anyone I know of.

I've seen him, he scared the crap out of my son :chuckle:

OH, My wife took a photo of what she thought at the time was a bear ac cross the hill from her. This was out of the Mt rainier area. When we blew it up , because it was so far away, it had a cone shaped head and broad shoulders and was standing up right and tall as the 20 ft. jack firs. Not a bear. Gave the pictures to the authorities and it went into the bigfoot files after authentication. That was back in the late 80's...I DONO .... :yike:
-
You need to dig up that picture Smokey!
-
I don't know?/ I'll get her on that! :chuckle:
-
Lets see, 1980 , that means theres alot of pictures to go through :chuckle: Good luck with that :chuckle:
-
 :yeah:
-
Well lets see....
I've personally never had any odd experiences and have spent too much time in the woods to believe in any sort of primate still living out there....
I personally don't understand the whole rock throwing thing..... I mean seriously, if there were a bigfoot and it had the capabilities of throwing these huge rocks people speak of, I'd think one would be capable of hitting you with a rock....
I know I've contemplated going out and screwing with people that are camped in the back 40 but you have to have some pretty big balls to do so, I know I'm always packing when I'm out camping....
