if its a legitimate rape the female has ways of shutting it down. if its immaculate rape there is nothing that can be done.
yeah, ducks are rapists alright. thats why you got to give em the old double tap before the dog reaches em.
I wonder how many hens have been drowned while breeding.

I had read a similar article years back. Unfortunately I know more than I care to about waterfowl. :o

I heard that we're now granting asylum to Latin American hens who've been the victims of badelynge rape. :peep: :stirthepot:

ducks have enormous sex organs -- spiraling tentacles that can be as long as the drake itself. The Argentine lake duck’s phallus probably holds the record at 16 inches. If that isn’t bizarre enough, add the fact that in the fall, a drake’s genitalia will disappear, only to reappear next spring. Nobody knows why this happens.
I've seen many hens get raped. Many times when I was out fishing in the spring, I would see drakes jumping hens. one time I remember seeing a ducks penis swinging around as he was flying. I kind of wondered why I never noticed a duck's penis when cleaning ducks during hunting season. Now that question has finally been answered. (Not that I cared enough to look up the info. I just remember wonder about it and this was before the internet.)

I knew this already. Interesting though.

I am not going to sleep well tonight. :bash:

Oh I knew it and have mentioned it on here many times before.... :dunno: animals do all sorts of crazy things from rape to prostitution to homosexual behavior, nothing exciting about it just the natural world doing what it does. Yes there are birds that prostitute dont recal the species off top of my head but the males all get to breed her so long as they bring nesting contributions.....kinda funny .....like human dating without the messy marriage ending

I wonder if the name duck is actually just a misspell? :dunno:

Interesting article. But there's an Argentinian duck with a 16" long johnson? Holy cow, that's almost as long as mine! What? TMI? Oh, sorry.
:chuckle: :IBCOOL:

Just to be clear, the " symbol stands for inches not millimeters.

if someone could find similar info on swans we might just get a season one day. all the bird watchers will cover their children's eyes when they pass a field swarming with those damn rapist swans.

There was a DU article last year.
They found a brood of chicks. DNA matched them to 1 hen and 8 fathers.
