I killed a eurasian but didn't take a picture of it. That was pretty dumb. Other than that, I haven't killed any rare birds. I did see a Harli way up the sol duc once. Not incredibly rare but a really cool bird and a first for me. I will see if I can find those pictures.

I had shared this in another thread earlier in the year. This was a fishing buddy I had one day.

hat species of pelican is that?
-
I believe he is a Peruvian Pelican. He froze to death a few days later. F&G wanted him. I imagine you'll see him in a mount at HQ one day.
-
someone was lost, haha
-
They figured he was blown in during a storm and never found his way out.
-
pretty cool, to bad he died :'( :'(

Fuzzy Eurasian Wigeon

This one flew right into the dump truck I was driving last year while heading west on I90. It is an unorthodox way of getting one but that was out of my control.
I would like to know what kind it is. Anyone know?
Sure made a loud bang when it hit!
-
Looks like a Hooded Merganser hen a relatively common duck in the Pacific North West although its hard to tell based on those two photos.

Are you sure "it flew right into the dump truck"? That sounds a lot like "officer his face flew right into balled up fist".
:chuckle:

Unfortunately, it flushed while my "buddy" was picking up some teal so I let it fly down the river. I thought it was just another woody and he had never shot one so I figured we'd float down river and get a chance at it, we did. As far as I know, it's still in his freezer and he's even a taxidermist. :bash:
-
You're welcome for that mandarin. I lived near the chehalis and use to raise a ton of those. Had a bunch get out of my pen back then. Whacked a few of them myself. Still waiting to hear the guy who shoots a drake ringed teal or a Russian Baikal. The Baikal was spendy. :(

I don't know what you are smoking duckkillerclyde. Probably time to stop. It's affecting your perception of reality. Even if it was on the Washington coast, that's a grey pelican. Not un-common for the washington coast.
