I was out scouting for elk back in Aug. and I was seeing a lot of bears, so I took the 25.06 one evening. Walked up a nice little draw with a creek in the bottom. I started noticeing a lot of wild raspeberries and said to myself, "self, this looks like a good spot to find a bear" Not 10 seconds later this guy runs out of the brush not 10 yards from me and up onto a little hill about 30 yards away. Once I figured out what it was I decided to shoot him. So, I pulled up and put the crosshairs on the black and pulled the trigger. After the warning shot, I pulled up about 6ft. higher on the hill where the bear actually was standing and shot him and he dropped right there. I always like to give 'em a sporting chance. I also figured out that a scope on 9 power at 30 yards doesn't work too well.

yeah i missed a 2pt one time using my scope at 9x when he was only 20yds or so away. :chuckle:
nice bear btw. that had to get the blood running when it jumped out that close.

Good looking animal. Its always nice to let them know that their being hunted before you kill them :chuckle:

"self, this looks like a good spot to find a bear"
can't argue with a conversation like that.
Once I figured out what it was I decided to shoot him. So, I pulled up and put the crosshairs on the black and pulled the trigger. After the warning shot, I pulled up about 6ft. higher on the hill where the bear actually was standing and shot him and he dropped right there.
I might steal that reasoning

Congrats. Looks like you were right about it being a good spot for a bear. :chuckle:
