I just got a call from the breeder of my brit who is a good friend. His dog, who is a litter mate to mine, just finished his AKC FC with a 5 point win in a 1hr open Gun Dog trial. To top it off, it was a 1hr AF dual sanctioned trial which makes him an AF Champion as well... My trainer trained 5 of the 7 dogs in the litter. Of the 5 he trained, one was sold after it was a pup only to be a hunting dog. However, it spent 1 summer at camp in SD when it turned 1. Unfortunately for us, that dog was awesome but would never see the trial circuit. It was possibly the best dog in the litter......One was weeded out and ended up as a guide dog hunting wild grouse in the NE, and the three who stayed on his string, have all finally finished their AKC FC's, and all 3 are also AF Champions.... The other two are in the PNW and unfortunately never got the training needed to see what their potential really was. I've seen both of them run however, and believe at least one, if not both, could have made it in the trial world. I feel incredibly lucky to have a pup out of this litter. 3 of 7 dogs are now FC's with another dog who was easily good enough, but never given the chance. Two others would have probably made it as well if given the proper training and exposure. To have 3 of 7 dogs in a litter that had what it took to be Field Champions, and do it in one hour trials, is pretty amazing. To have 5 or 6 who could have made it from one litter is really amazing. Congrats JB, you bred a hell of a litter!

Who are the parents? What trainer?

The sire/dame are dogs from Georgia. And the trainer is originally from VA but hes moved his base to NE. PM me if you'd like specifics.

I might be able to guess who.... But I'm interested now. Sounds like this litter was/is some hot stuff. Is it Bo Ackerman lines or Dorehty?

He was really nice, and a true AA dog at that. I watched him run several times. He was a hell of an athlete and sends those traits to his pups. I was told he won a Championship in 95 degree heat and it never bothered him. I didn't really believe it till I watched my pup run at Branched Oak NE last year in 92 degree heat. She went birdless, but got stronger as the hour progressed and was going away at 500 yards, faster then she started, at time..... He didnt get bred enough however. With the push towards the white dogs for trials, breeding to a roan, which he was, isn't too popular. After our litter however, there was a decent push to breed to him though. He was bred to an ANFC who was also RUNFC. Ben Garcia, an all breed Pro out in CO, also had a dog sent out to be bred to him after he judged one of the dogs from our litter in a 1hr AA Championship. Unfortunately that breeding was too late and Tiger couldn't get it done... The litter out of the ANFC is doing really nice though. From the looks of it, at least 2 or 3 of those dogs will probably have what it takes to make the circuit. I would love to have a pup out of that litter, but the breeder who started the ball rolling with our litter, couldn't even get a dog....... Unfortunately, they didn't get any straws from him!! :bash: I'm just glad I got chit house lucky enough to get a dog out of him.
