Title: Brass
Post by: Three_Oh_Eight on March 15, 2013, 02:00:21 PM
I ordered a SHOT show special M70 Featherweight in 7x57 Mauser.  Went looking all over the internet for brass and couldn't find ANY.  I gave away my once-fired stuff to a friend.  I went to an obscure hole-in-the wall store and found 3 bags of Winchester 7x57 brass, 50 count.  $30 a bag.  Bought all of it.  Crazy.  I can't find 7mm-08 brass to save my life.

Dude you scored. Winchester brass is great and now they only make limited runs of it. I bought 100 bulk cases a long time ago and still have some left . I bought the same rifle as you a few years after they came out in the 80's. I've been shooting a 7x57 since 1976. Killed lots of deer with it, 2 caribou , and a WA mt goat and black bear. Its a great caliber, Enjoy.

Thanks.  I had a Ruger 1A in 7x57, a pre-warning model, and I could never get it to shoot.  I tried bedding the fore-end, replacing the quarter-rib, all sorts of stuff.  Shot so poorly that I took the scope off and just used the open sights.  Could be any worse.

Hope this featherweight turns out better :).
