Title: 67 yard grouping
Post by: demontang on March 30, 2013, 07:02:14 PM: So it was nice enough to shoot today. I had to fine tune my sights again but managed some nice groups out at 67yds I stopped after I stick the two touching.

I need to get a spit hog release again the one I have is a pretty hard pull to release it but it works.

Need a walking measuring device or range-finder to really figure out my target distance though. I use about 8 paces per 10 meters, I think its rough but its what Im going by now.

before i got my range finder i found a pace to be pretty dead on to a yard.out to 40 and 50 yards i would only ever be off by 2 or 3 yards

How tall are you and what are your pacing measurements?

i am sure it is different for different folks.
i dont know what i would do without my rangefinder now.very good investment

I can only hope my broadheads will fly that well the first try so I dont have to do a lot of tuning. As to. Shooting at a live critter it would be the same for me I have never gotten excited before or during a shot.

This target was at the "High Mountain Archery Challenge" last July. Target has been around for about 1 years. We also shoot at it in the evening when it gets dark, with lit nocks. Usally a little good natured fun and a few dollars involved!

I'm using a G5 optix XR, so refer to the bottom moveable pin as "dialing dope" to borrow from rifle terminology :chuckle:

You do have to learn a second anchor placement, and adjust the height, but with the sight adjustment, I can get to 100 easily with the lower peep, then start at 100 out to 200 with the second peep. Kinda like the soldiers of old, anchoring down to their 1rst, 2nd, 3rd ribs to get the longer ranges!
