Just talked to my buddy today and got my product price sheets. There is a lot of new stuff and they have been super busy. They are just starting to wrap up the first lots of LR accubonds right now. So in this crazy time it might be awhile before we see them sitting on shelves but they should be going out to dealers and some special people 8) soon.
I really like the loadings that they are doing for factory ammo with the LR bullets as well.

I would love to get my hands on a box of .270 150gr

I will be giving most the paces over the next year. The 6.5 in my Grendel. The 150 270 in my wsm's. The 150 7mm in my 7mm-08's and both the 30's in a few different rifles. I look forward to seeing how they do.
The nice thing is they are made to preform at the lower velocity's at the extended ranges. Where the normal accubond needs 1800fps to still preform well the new LR only needs 1300fps.

so how about closer ranges ?
ima 0-750 yards kinda guy,do you think it would blow up too easily at like..75 yards ??
-
I think they will act more like ballistic tips at the close ranges. Which will still kill well but I don't think they will retain there weight as well at the close ranges. My guess would be maybe 60% weight retention. That is one of the things I will for sure be putting to the test.

I'm wondering how they will do at 3000 fps?

http://www.nosler.com/Bullets/AccuBond_LongRange.aspx (http://www.nosler.com/Bullets/AccuBond_LongRange.aspx)
There is a one minute video on the website at 37 seconds it shows the bullet expansion at the different velocities.
-
I will give them that test for sure Dale. I thought of you when I saw they were doing a 210 loading with the 30-378. That load should be money. I think I am going to build this rifle I am putting together into a 30-378 rather then 300 rum. I don't know what the factory loads will run but with handloads I am sure a guy can get 3100fps+ out of that 210 in the 30-378. I will also run those 150's right around 3k in the 270wsm.

Yeah I watched that it's computer animated so not sure I would trust that as an idea of what they will do.

Do you have some coming soon?
-
He told me to wait about 2 weeks to put my order in as they have just started boxing them this week. He said he would do his very best to get me some into the order. The first ones off the lines are the 210 30 cals :IBCOOL:

Above you show factory loads with ablr 300 grain in 338. Is this the same Bioethics that is already out?(300 grain accubond) or is this a new bullet only available in factory load options?
-

Yep, exactly what I was thinking

Nah...if you are shooting a 150 gr out of a .270 then you best go buy an 06 ... :twocents: :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
Nah, a 150 Abond from a 270 sounds as good as a 160 from a 7mm - and I've put the hurt on a few animals with that combo.
-
Get an -06... that's funny there :chuckle: :chuckle:

I meant to ask him about this because he told me they were not doing a 300g LR bullet this year, since they just did the 300g standard accubond. Yet it shows the load in the long range ammo. So I think it probably is just going to be with the standard accubond since they did not do a special Lr 338 bullet yet. Still when I look at the book's it says 300 ablr. So not sure what to think. Maybe they did make one and are not selling the reloading bullets yet for it :dunno:
I have to many 06's and 270's already :chuckle: I like the 140's in my 270wsm but when you map out the 150 lr and the 140 they are very close in ballistics.
-
I always prefer the heavy for caliber bullets when shooting longer ranges. The heaviest will most likely have the advantage on long shots even with slower initial velocity. I am interested to hear how these perform. Their BC are very impressive if they hold true.
-
Yeah he knows I am a 340wby buff and I pushed to see them get a load for it so I am happy to see one.
I look forward to shooting them and running them threw some critters this year. I don't have to many rifle hunts on the books but will try to do some field test with them when I can.
-
I just ordered up a box of 210 grainers in .308! Limit one box per customer. I'd be hard pressed to find a better bullet than the 215 grain Berger hybrid but maybe this will be...
-
Impressive BC's on the .308's. I'll have to try the factory ammo they're building.
-
I am working up a 30-378 ultimate build right now and the 210's should be money! I can't wait to get them and start playing with them :IBCOOL: I will play with the .284 and .270 later for sure.
-
when mine show up i will be sure to post some comparison pics with other long range .308 bullets.
hopefully they ship fast!
