Looking to replace my fieldpoint target. Curious if anyone has a strong opinion on which one is the best. :twocents:

I've been using the same target for five years now, it's holding up well.

The hurricane targets are great if you only want to shoot field points.

I finally wore out The Block target after several years of use when the arrows started sinking to the fletching. I replaced it with a Black Hole in which they sank to the fletching the first time I used it. So I spent $100 on an 18" X 18" Block Classic which looks like it will last for many, many years. It is quite a bit thicker than my original Block so that should increase longevity. The only thing I don't like about it is the arrows are harder than &#%$ to pull out. No doubt it will get better after I put enough arrows into it and it starts loosening up.

Third hand archery bags or skins.
Go to thrift store and get their throw away clothes and fill them yourself. The bag/skin is guaranteed to 1000 shots per mark, 18 on the bag, so 18,000 shots. I just picked up 2, filled them both and they stop my field points everytime. Cost is cheap to make, arrows go in about 6-8 inches and can pull out with two fingers. When I filled mine I put all the clothes in a trash bad inside the thirdhand bag to avoid moisture inside and also cover the bag with a can liner aftershooting. So far I have zero complaints. Will be buying skins soon and making a wood frame target to shoot into as well.

I have always lined mine with used carpet to help the burlap hold up. So i just take the carpet and shape a U with it and stuff with used plasitc bags and such. I think they run $15

Rhinehart. Try their 18-1 or their new woodland.

I like my Block

Rhinehart, great target
Have had 2 Morrel yellow jackets. 1st was great, 2nd anything hits on the right side of the target is very tough to pull arrows out of.

I am new to archery, well...getting back into it after 15 years, so I guess new is the right word. I bought The Black Magnum by Delta McKenzie three months back. I love it. Stops my 521 grain arrows (tipped with Silver Flame broad heads) like a Pinto hitting a brick wall. Very safe and secure shooting, and easy to remove. It has held up well so far.
