My wifes stepdad didn't draw for multiseason deer.
Anyone else not draw the multiseason deer?

Maybe he only applied for the point?
-
I didnt draw either... but I didnt put in, so, that might explain it.
If he put in for it and didnt draw, that guy is the MOST unlucky dude ev err.
-
He says he put in and got a "not selected". I was shocked and figured he must have done something wrong on the application. I figured I would post the question and see if anyone else didn't draw. I am thinking a call to WDFW is in order to make sure the "not selected" is correct. I have not heard of someone not getting drawn for the deer tag.
-
It is possible but unlikely. Last year there were 7900 applications for 8500 permits. There were 8500 permits again this year. Even if the number of applicants increased by 600 the odds would still be 100%.
-
Maybe the number of applicants increased by 601, and he was the ONE, who didn't draw. :dunno: :chuckle:

If I were that person, I wouldn't be buying lottery tickets.

If that's the case I'm really surprised it wasn't me :chuckle: But, I did draw a spring bear tag. So maybe WDFW doesn't hate me as much as they use to. :IBCOOL:

Oh, they probably do. They just hate bears a little more.

know a guy who was not applying correctly and was not drawing for 2 years. he figured it out and has drawn for the last 3 years for both. mike w

I'm not sure how it's possible to "not apply correctly." ???

I drew this years multiseason deer. 2nd time drawn for it. I still have yet to be drawn for Elk though.
Maybe next year.
Come on hunting season. I'm ready!
Good Luck to everyone.
-

True Dat, once you purchase the application you are automatically in for the draw!
-
I didn't draw.... Probably because I didn't put in being the only reason.... If you didn't put in for a point for multi deer you should've drawn....
-
i'm sure one one wont buy one and he will get it
-
No elk, drew deer for 3rd year running but no surprise there right. For 2nd year running i wont buy it.

The state thanks you for your generous $7 donation.
-
I went and checked..........I didn't draw anything. But it would have been more of a surprise if I did draw ms permits since I didn't apply. Thought it would be worth a check though. :)
I did notice that I have a point for deer ms and one point for elk. I forgot that I had applied for both back in 2006.

Actually DN i got in early and only had to pay $6.50. Money well spent in my view to deny the state an additional $181.50 that i know they are really counting on. It's mine to do with what I please and if nobody likes it they can lump it.
-
My hunting partner almost forgot to put in for the draw. He bought his application and darn near forgot to put in for it....That would have sucked. :chuckle: :chuckle:

If you have no intension of buying it why bother putting in ???????? :dunno:
-
a guy at work put in for deer and didn't get drawn...lucky for me I got drawn for both!

You mean you only had to give the state $6.50 pure profit? That's awful nice of you. If you really wanted to screw em out of money you wouldn't be giving them free money.... I'm sure they appreciate your donation.

They should make it to where if you get drawn and don't buy it you can't put in the next year. :twocents:

What they should do is go back to the original process where if you dont buy the tag in a certain time frame, then it reverts to the next selectee in line.
-
There were more MS deer permits than applications again this year. Anyone that applied correctly on time would have drawn.
-
I was gonna put in for it for the first time this yr an forgot! :bash:
-
It was undersold again this year. Everybody who applied correctly should ahve been drawn. If you didn't I'd be getting ahold of Olympia. :twocents:

You must submit the application as well.

You must submit the application as well.
Only if applying for the point option, or if you're applying with a partner.
-
I know two people who applied and did not draw so I call bs on more permits then applications.
-
Curious to know whether those that did not get drawn actually 'submitted' their preference. There were two options...one for a point and another for the permit. If one did not 'submit' the permit with a preference, they may have had an invalid or unprocessed application.
It's kind of like buying a raffle ticket and keeping both pieces, the one you keep to prove you put in and the other you actually put in the drawing....
sucks, but may be a reality that someone should look into.
-

There were fewer applications this year than in 2012.
-
For those who say you applied but did not draw the multi season deer: I'd like to see a printscreen of your results page. Perhaps you mistakenly applied for the "points option?" There's no other reason you should not have drawn.
Here's mine:
-
I drew the multi-elk again finally. Hope I can actually use it this year. Last time was in 09 and I drew a special permit on top of my multi so I ended up not "using" the multi-tag. I just went to purchase my 2013 multi-tag and it doesnt show up as an option to buy online. Are they available to purchase yet?
-
Check this out, in 2006 I drew both deer and elk, but didn't purchase either one. Actually the deer permit I didn't even have the option to buy until August I think it was. That was back when they gave a person so much time to buy it and if they didn't it was offered to the next person in line.
-

Thats not entirely true. If he bought the application and didnt go to the submit application section then all he did was donate $6.50. I almost forgot to go submit my apps after I bough them.

From the WDFW website:
How do I enter the drawing after I purchase the application?
Your application is automatically entered into the drawing unless you apply with a partner. These applications may be submitted online at https://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov/wdfw/special_permits.html.

you still have to go chose points option or submit for the permit.

No you don't. Only if you're only applying for the point option or if you're applying with a partner. And there's no reason to do either of those two things since the multi season deer is 100% draw odds every year.

all right.

The story I am getting on my guy not getting drawn is some sort of a mixup when he bought his license. It sounds like maybe he got a second deer application or something instead of the multiseason deer application and didn't check his receipt.
-
My hunting partner almost forgot to put in for the draw. He bought his application and darn near forgot to put in for it....That would have sucked.
Now, this is really confusing me. I bought the application online while very tired and thought I was buying a Quality application, forgetting that they aren't even available til later. Anyway, since I wasn't familiar with the MS tag, I just left it alone for now, not even submitting it, hoping to come back later to figure it out. Well, today I got my "you got drawn" letter. So, at least for me, I got drawn by only buying the app online and never submitting it on the page your're supposed to do that on.
Also, my letter said that 6587 applicants got drawn. So, if that is actually way under the amount available, and I got one without even submitting it, then those who did submit and didn't get drawn had better be calling Olympia.

You submitted your application. You were selected along with everyone else that PROPERLY submitted. People saying they were not selected messed up somehow.
-
I" got drawn by only buying the app online and never submitting it on the page your're supposed to do that on."
That is the way it works. Applications are submitted automatically.
-
Maybe if you buy the application and don't submit it, you are automatically submitted. The only reason to submit apparently is if you want the points option??
-
Or if you want to apply with a partner.
