i had a custom built 300 ultramag a few years ago. the gun is a tack driver. but it does not extract the brass the best some times. the guy who built it does not build rifles any more looking for a good gun smith that does good work to install the spring for me. thanks

I had the same problem last year on a factory Remington, called Remington and they sent me a mailing address for a repair shop..I believe it was in the portland area..hope this helps

Is it an extraction problem, or an ejection problem?

Long trip from Kelso, but I recommend CaR Firearms in Tukwila. Fred does an awesome job at everything he does and he is the only one to touch any of my guns.

it was a extractor problem. i took it to a guy in winlock he was recommended by another member on here. he put a new spring in there he said the other spring was to weak. im good to go now. he put in for 5 dollars for the spring. funny thing is this a 2000.00 dollar custom gun i had built. it just would not eject the brass worth a darn unless you cycled it quick and hard. this is my elk canon :chuckle: the guy who built it does not build or work on rifles any more or i would take it to him. thanks
