Hello,
My grandfather passed away last june and I am getting his cougar mount. It is unfinished, needs teeth a base and a good going over. It is on its hind legs with its front paw stretching out like it is attacking something. anybody here a taxidermist or know of one that would tackle such a task?

here is some rough pics of it that were sent to me. I will give more when i recieve the mount.

Charlie maybe? He's a sponser and does great work.
-
Yeah that will take an experienced one for sure ....Charlie :yeah:
-
I saw some of charlies work on here and I am impressed!
-
It was mounted quite awhile ago, so yeah its gonna need some love!
-
yeah it is a matter of if they can make a jaw set work ...
-
I will throw Charlie in on this. Does great work, has my bear now and has done wonders with cougs
-
That looks like a HUGE CAT, well worth saving for sure!
-
I also say Charlie/Bucklucky will be the perfect guy to finish it!!!
-
Charlie is definately the man for this job to make him real life again.

Just as another option you could call Rick at Cedar River. He has an auction item coming up this week for store credit.
His add is at the top of the taxidermy page.
The cat in his add is the one he did for me, see this link

One of his recent posts shows a brown bear that I think he repaired for someone that didn't like the original mount by another taxidermist, he took it apart and re did it as I recall. It was in the shop when I was picking stuff up from him.
Just an option, I have been real happy with everything he has done for me especially the cat, they are tough to get right.

Dang it man ...I was hoping someone fixed it :bash:

I don't think it was so much of a bad initial mount as it was the guy didn't like the original pose, Rick changed it to climbing onto that rock if it is the one that I am thinking of.
All of his stuff looks alive in person, really nice stuff.
