Anyone hunted these units before? hows the hunting? Is there more wolves than elk? Any tips or info would be appreciated...will be hunting oct 10-17

I checked the area out in 2008 and almost ran a wolf over on the East Fork of the Crooked River. From what I'd heard there were a lot of wolves over there then, but that was before they opened a season on them.

If the wolves are there then there must be elk

That's the optimistic way of looking at it. You could also say that there must have been elk there.

Im tryin to keep my hopes up :chuckle: i wouldnt mind baggin a wolf either...if i make it over i will have a tag in my pocket

You'd be better off going on a wolf hunt during the elk season and having an elk tag in your pocket also. :)
