Title: Impressive Gold tip photo
Post by: superdown on April 19, 2013, 04:45:19 PM
I just saw this on archery talk and thought i would share. This image shows a 225 lb guy standing on 3 of our arrows. We attempted to do this with our competitors arrows at the same spine and they blew into pieces. We took one of our sales reps that weighs 165 and he can stand on 2 and have it support him, 3 of the competitors blew up again. The arrows are the Pro Hunters 5575/400."

I'm having some doubts about my Easton Axis 400.

runied one on a pebble in the sand, I shot low at the target at 50 yards and skipped it in the sand into the target, it hit a small pebble and ruined the arrow at the end of the insert :o

I like my gold-tip XT Hunters. They feel light, strong, and no crappy clear-coat on the shaft :chuckle:

Nothing but goldtip 7595s here for the past 8 years.  I have still hunters for practice and pro hunters for crunch time!

I don't see how this "test" is relevant though.

seems like sometimes when you put one in the boiler room the shoulder blade/muscles will come back an kind cut your arrow...if they can bend like this they might hold up better and help keep your arrow whole  :dunno: cept ive had gold tips break tho soo who knows

Interesting, I was thinking my gold tips weren't so tough after two broke while taking down my first archery buck. It died mind you, but cost me some $.

I have always been an Easton kinda guy but I have used Goldtips the last 3 or 4 years ...They have both treated me good over the years ...Now as far as the guy standing on the arrows I have to call BS ...Hope they can defend themselves when someone brakes their neck  :yike: :bdid:

I used Gold Tip Pro hunters for a while. Two years ago I switched to GT Kinetic Pros. Both are awesome arrows!

Marketing hype.  If you're standing on your shafts while you're hunting, you're doing it wrong.

I used to shoot gold tips and if I had any left I'd try it... I gave them all away tho. Someone has to have 3 old goldtips in their arrow bucket?

Marketing hype indeed!  It's similar to Buck knives, in the late 80s.  They'd hammer knives into a tree and then use them to climb the tree.  However, if you read the warranty, at the time, it explicitly explained that doing so would void the warranty...lol.
