Still liking the side mount stabilizer? I just ordered up a doinker tactical. They look pretty similar. Hopefully it will do the trick.
-
Shoots like a dream! Never seen a setup this consistent and accurate for me before, and its a 6" brace! Love the balance. Was a hard decision between the ss1 and the tactical. I ended up finding the ss1 for $25 cheaper so I went with that one. Only downside to these is putting it in a case, and the price. Once I put on my red/black vapor trail strings this thing is going to be one mean elk slayer.

Dude, nice rig!
-
I will post a pic of my tactical when I get it. I have been wanting to get that or the ss1 for a while now. The fitting in a case thing has kind of been holding me back then I realized I don't have a case. Hopefully it will get my Element shooting as well as my Vector Turbo did. Wish I never sold that thing. Great bows.
-
Here is my tactical. Don't mind the weeds.

Looks nice smossy. Are you done with your H/E yet? With all these good looking bows there should be some meat on the table come fall.

Thanks, Yeah finished it over a week ago. Was a pretty cool experience being old enough to be able to take everything in to heart.
Was almost sad when It was over to be honest. Strings are courtesy of Radsav and his amazing workmanship. Custom colors and strings.

.
those are some sharp lookin strings.

BT Experience in Predator Deception Brown. Just a simple octane rest on at the moment. Waiting for a new cage for my TT Smackdown. Building my arrows for it this next week.

I love it! Ill try to remember off the top of my head what I have on there. Trophy taker Drop away rest, Black gold 5 pin sight, X-coil stabilizer, limb saver sting and limb silencers. I cant remember what quiver I have at the moment but the only gripe is I have to use the first arrow in the quiver otherwise it rattles a bit when I shoot. it doesn't shoot as fast as some others on the market but its super quiet and vibration felt in the hand is almost non existent. also the draw back is super smooth, 70lbs feels like 60lbs no joke. I shoot Cabon express Mayhems and get about 260-270 FPS. very accurate and fun bow.

Here are a few of the really old bows and the one l hunt with now!

This is the only picture I've taken of my Diamond Outlaw, probably because it's the only shot I've ever taken with it that really mattered. ;)

Thats a nice bow kill there band. Doesn't look like she went very far!
It was perfect. She was walking toward the bull that was screaming at her to hurry up and catch up with the herd and I took the 46 yard shot. She stopped when the arrow passed through and cocked her head to the side as if to say "hey, something's not quite right here", and then she started swaying back and forth and stumbled a few steps downhill and it was all over. I think it took about 10 seconds after the shot before she keeled over. And then the bull decided the herd could probably do without her and he jogged off. None of the elk even saw or heard me. :IBCOOL:

Nicely done

Thanks. That was the exit wound, by the way. She was quartering away and the arrow slipped between ribs on both sides which probably caused what may have been a barely perceptible impact. Had it hit a rib I'm guessing the impact would have startled her and caused her to run on impact. Lucky placement. 8)

Im noticing lots of bows without wrist straps, whats the deal with that?
-
Im noticing lots of bows without wrist straps, whats the deal with that?
I dont feel the need for one while hunting, I think its a huge time waster when trying to get off a shot. It already takes too long with a compound, why make it take longer? That and the newer bows dont jump at all, they just sit there when shot. A newer shooter could definantly benefit from one though, while learning the correct way to "not grip" a bow, especially if they have an older bow with recoil. Once good fundementals are learned I feel they have more cons than pros for hunting.

Makes sense, I just thought it was something everyone uses. Ive never dropped my bow myself. Maybe Ill take it off for awhile and see how it works out. I cant grip the bow, Its impossible with my mindset. I just always need to make sure I have finger clearance from the broad-heads.

Careful, when shooting down hill at steep angles or from stands I've almost lost mine a couple times but the strap has saved me.
-
Ive shot for 23 years with a strap..no way I would shoot out of a stand with one..not the time to be thinking or gripping the bow all the sudden.U should never be gripping a bow ..soon as strap is gone and u shoot u begin to try to grasp the bow. same with extreme downhill
-
I agree with huntnnw and others. I will ever be in the woods with or shoot kryptek bow without a wrist strap... every time I release an arrow y bow falls and is caught by my wrist strap.

I'm glad someone could understand my post... my phone likes to replace words... :chuckle:

I have downsized
-
I shoot from treestand and on the ground for a decade now. I don't need the wrist strap. I tried it at one point but took it off. It's more of a hassle when you only have a few seconds to take a shot.
-
I must be missing something :dunno: Why would it take longer to get a shot off using a wrist sling?
-

You have to put your hand inside it, duh rad. :chuckle:

Bite Me! :chuckle:
I think some folks are thinking it is a cinch strap and not a sling. There should be all kinds of room to quickly slide your hand underneath a sling. I'll take the improved accuracy over being two tenths of a second faster on the draw.
-
Some sling get all wacky when you put the bow in the case.
The less equipment, the better. If you must use a sling to be accurate, well great. I am as lethal without one. My back hurts every year from packing out. ;)
-
never used a strap and never dropped my bow , to each there own
-
Wow some mighty nice looking and recent bows guess I'll leave my Martin Cougar II hanging in the shop and maybe cover it up
-
Here's my "meat catcher". It's an 06 Hoyt Powertech, that's fed upon a few NY & Ct whitetail, a turkey, a few squirrels & rabbits, and one blacktail. As much as I want a new bow, I won't replace her until she has an elk under her belt.

More bow pics.

Cheater! How long is that stabilizer? :chuckle:
-
10 1/2 inches of stabilizer on that bow. Exactly 12 inches of stab on my target bow. Its within the rules.
-
Well that's no fun! :(
Is that your target stabilizer in the pic with your doe? Thing looks lengthy.

so when I first looked at that stabilizer a woman was working behind the counter I ask to look at it she pops it out of the package and hands it to me. I'm looking its pretty cool I ask how long is it she looks back at the package and says "mmmm my lord 10 1/2 inches good length". I replied "i'll take it" she says "10 1/2 inches"? "No i'll just buy stabilizer"

And new bowtech carbon knight.

Well here's what I failed to make meat with this year :'(, not the bow's fault though.
1969 Bear Alaskan ok, not the most sought after of bear recurves, most Alaskans were 30lbers, but she's 62" 50#@28 wich makes her abit rarer, I stretch her back 30" so she packs alittle more wieght for me. Plain Jane with no fancy overlay, but she shoots pretty sweet.

Clearly you have sinned against the bow gods :chuckle:
-
I don't know how the Hoyt guys tie on their rest cord or replace their strings. But around here we try to do things the easy way. And maybe the Hoyt guys wouldn't have to buy a new bow every other year if they did a clean and tune once in a while.
Although I guess if you never get out of the truck you don't need to clean or replace strings until you get the next bow :chuckle:

I liked my Hoyt alot but just want to spend a whole paycheck for one. I really like how my Destoyer shoots. I have shot last years Carbon Matrix and Spyder 34 also shot the new Bowtech Experience. Out of those 3 I really liked how the Experience felt and shot. I couldn't pass up the deal I got n this Destroyer I got and it shoots really smooth and fast. I said the only two bows I would own would either be a Bowtech or Hoyt.

Any bow can kill in the right hands of someone that know how to use it. I have seen plenty of kills with tons of different brands of bows. Having Hoyt on your bow doesn't automatically make you a better hunter. You pratice with your bow all the time to hone your skills. It is your skills with a bow that gives you that kill ability. I bet if we gave you a different brand of bow, you may not like it but I bet you will kills something just the same as you did with your Hoyt.

D-Rock is one of the fun Dudes on this site. One of the few that can dish it as well as take it. And always remembers it's all in good fun as we all try to fill in this time of off season frustration. One of these days I hope we can get a hunt in together. I think that would be a load of fun!
-
Radsav is right. We may battle a little over "our brands" but at the end of the day we are still archers and support each other for being archers. I'll hunt with you anytime.

We kid each other because we care.

Everyone knows that the main reason they make different kinds of bows, draw weights, arrow types, broadhead types...all of that....is so we can nitpick each others choices in deer/elk/bear/kangaroo camp. Thank goodness we all didn't use our bows for waterfowl....then it would for sure get ugly.

I wish there were more attitudes like this around here.
Too often things get a little aggressive and people run around crying :ACRY:
"this is why I don't like to post on here, you guys are so mean..."
"...I'm never coming back, you have hurt my feelings...crickets...okay I'm back but you all better be nice..."[/i]
"this used to be a great site before all you losers pushed away all the good people..."
and
"this is an outrage! I am sick of all way I've been treated. All posts bearing any condescention and outright rudeness have been copied and sent to the proper authorities. My brilliant corps of attorneys will be constructing an airtight suit of defamation by next morning..."
Thanks RadSav and D-Rock for showing some healthy ribbing and debate :chuckle:
