So we have spent the last three days looking for the elusive Idaho turkey...day one windy and HOT...Day 2 HOT...day three 0430 alarm goes off after a quick breakfast we head for the woods as we have done the last few days...the lack of sleep and heat is starting to wear us down but we push on and head for a new area. We arrive to our location and its is already 64 degrees...gonna be another hot one! After a 20 minute quad ride we come to a great looking area that overlooks some meadows. As we are standing there enjoying the scenery, low and behold we hear a gobble straight down the hill below us. Hunter's eyes light up and he asks how do we get down there :) After a short hike down the hill we get set up and the gobbler is going crazy. He is within 75 yards of us so we set up a decoy and get ourselves hidden. This is where the proud father moment begins...I had given my son several mouth reed calls to master after last years hunt and told him when he figures them out I will let him call. Well after months of practice he has gotten fairly good with his calling and we decided to let him give it a whirl this time. After he offers up a few hen calls the gobbler came to us like he was on a string :IBCOOL: Soon as he started coming our direction we stopped calling and let him do the work...we could hear him drummin and spittin all the way to the decoy. Thank god Hunter could not see him until he was right in front of us :chuckle: he was beyond excited when he actually saw the bird I dont think he could have held it together while the gobbler was heading for us. It seemed like forever when I first saw him until he actually came within range :chuckle: Soon as I gave him the go ahead "BOOM" goes the new turkey shotgun he bought a few months ago. Now its dads turn so we are gonna head back to the woods...I dont think the bird was done flopping before he asked me if we could put his pictures on Hunt-Wa so I hope you guys enjoy :)

Congrats to Hunter, Its good to see the younger generation out hunting. Awesome picture too, get it blown up and framed for friends and family to see when they' at your house.

That's just great had a good hunt stayed with it and it payed off nice picture.
