Great photo. put up a treestand and do some calling!

Pretty kitty  :archer:

This photo was taken about 10 feet in front of my ground blind. Too bad she did not show up later in the day during deer season. She would have been fun with the bow.

Awesome pic! Thanks for sharing.
Man I'd love to anchor one of those things with my bow someday!
One of the scariest moments of my life was when I arrowed a cougar from my treestand. I almost didn't do it because I figured that if I missed or, even worse, made a bad shot that it would climb up the tree and join me.
-
Yeah I am not sure I would want to stick one an have it join me in the tree.... :bdid: :chuckle:

From what the archery people tell me about cougar is that they don't retaliate like a bear or African cat. Once hit they high tail it out of Dodge like a deer. If you've done good arrow placement you'll find them bled out down the trail. I don't have any personal experience with this though, but would love to hunt a cougar with my Thunderbird.

My cougar went 30 yards, did a couple of brodies and crashed. It took me over an hour or watching it before I climbed out of my treestand to get it.
-
My wife's couger went about 75 yards. She heard it screaming at 6 in the evening and called it to her and shot it at 5 yards.1 arrow took it down ... 6'2+ female. 08

That's STILL a beautiful cat, Ed!

PolarBear, when I read your comment, it gave me a little chuckle. I don't have any personal experience with cougars, but a good buddy of mine is some sort of "predator magnet". Bears or cougars, it doesn't matter, he sees them all the time, and about 1/3 the time, they are stalking him. He shot a cougar that had been watching him from behind a log. When he spotted it and made eye contact, it put the rush on him, he missed the first shot, but got'em with the second. Said that the cat started doing flips about 6 ft. in the air. When it stopped moving, he started to run over to it, and he was so unnerved by the whole thing that his knees gave out, and he had to sit there for about 10 mins. before he could walk over and check out the cat. LOL
