Curious on what sight you hunt with & why?
I have used Spot Hogg Hunter 7 pin in the past with .019 pins. Been shooting CBE Tek hunter with 5 .010 pins this year. I seem to like the smaller pins and ability to move to long ranges easy with the CBE.
Your setup?
-
I shoot the spott hogg hogit, I use it cause of how tuff it is. I do not have to worry about anything coming loose onit. I shoot the .19 pins
-
Spot hogg because its the best.
-
I have a basic 5 pin Spot Hogg.
-
G5 one fixed pin and a bottom mover , takes the guess work out , 1 pin to forty yards , my light set up will be three fixed and one mover 30-40-50 and the mover . I'm not a spot hogg fan I dont like the center wire .

Armortech! Because its the best!

Spot hogg because its the best.
:yeah:
Spott Hogg Hunter 7 pin with Hogg Wrap! My top 5 pins are .19 and bottom 2 pins are .10, and I couldn't be happier.
-
Armortech! Because its the best!
get your own line I used that already. You can use lines like armortech! Because I'm not cool enough to shoot spot hogg.
-
Your's needed punctuation help. Hard to take it as a credible opinion. Lol
-
Black Gold Rush. Lifetime unconditional warrantee and 5 really bright pins.
-
I like my armortech. I also like punctuation.
-
Punctuation overrated
-
Trophy Ridge single pin slider. New this year because all the pins close together drive me nuts. Only have shot it out to 30 yards but like it so far.

Spot Hogg seven deadly pins with wrap .019.

Love my spot Hogg sights. I had a custom 7 pin Hogg-it but will be using a single pin Hogg Father this year.

i went through a few sights before settlin down on the hogg it with .19 pins.
had an ascent n it was a great sight.but more than i needed for hunting,n it rattled.
the hogg it is tuff as nails.is a breeze to set up.
i think i will get a head with .29 pins for hunting out of my blind next year

Spot Hogg!!!

No sights I hunt mostly with a long bow. That said I do have a shiny new Alpine Verdict for those hunts were my stick bow is a serious disadvantage. For the sight I chose the spot tommy hogg. Why some top rate archers recommended it. In fact it just arrived today and now I am trying to figure out how it works :chuckle:

Black Gold Rush. Lifetime unconditional warrantee and 5 really bright pins.
Totally agree!! I run the flash point super 7 by black gold. Always shining bright, durable, life time warranty, and awesome customer service.

i like my leo 3x9 vari x II in mat finish :chuckle: :chuckle:

Once again there are many good sights out there. My preference after using many is the Black Gold Ascent 3 pin mover sight. I think it is the perfect hunting sight. THe top two pins are .019 at 20 and 30 yards and the 40 yard pin is an .010. So for hunting Elk in the rut I would not plan on moving the sight. But then if I am hunting Mule deer at longer distances I can dial up that 3rd pin all the way out to 100 yards if I want to.
Works great for me.

jk... i Prefer the 7 pin Montana Black Gold Sights.... :twocents:
-
Trophy Ridge Hit Man 7 - Micro. Good protection in the ring for hunting heavy brush. Have yet to have any fibers break like i have with 2 other Spott Hogg's.
-
I put an HHA Optimizer Ultra on my bow last year. It has the dial vs the vertical adjustment on the regular Optimizer. It's a single pin. Multiple pins are great, but I've had viability issues with multiple pins and I always have to guess when shooting in between pins anyway. The HHA is adjustable by 1 yard increments and I have it dialed in to deadly accurate at 70 yards (in a controlled environment). I would never shoot at game from that distance, but with this single pin from 40-50 yards in the field, I'll never go back to multi-pin.

Spot hogg because its the best.
:yeah:
In 14 or so years, after falling on in on the ice several times, after dragging it through brush so that a snake has to suck in it's belly, after dropping it 6 feet while coming out of my treestand, I have never had to make an adjustment or re-sight it in. I can leave my bow in the barn all winter long and the first shot I take of the year, no matter what distance, my Spot Hogg is dead on! I had a 7-DP but thought it was overkill and sold it. I can't see myself buying a different brand. I did have a trophy Ridge in line pin site on a back up bow, shot it a couple of times and hated it so much that I sold it on e-bay. Yep, only Spot Hogg for this guy.
-
i've had fantastic luck with my Tru-Glo Xtreme 5 pin toolless. and it was under $70! :IBCOOL:

Just a standard 3 pin (20,30,40), but every animal I've shot has been within 20 yards :IBCOOL:
-
7 pin gold rush would prefer the 5 pin (wonder if I could remove one or two)
Like the pin variable lighting, and line the protected fiber.
Most of all liked the price.

Used to shoot a spot hogg. They are tough and reliable, but not as bright as a black gold. Gonna use the ascent 3 pin this season. Very happy with it so far.
-
Armortech! Because its the best!

I shoot a Spot Hogg 7DP with .019 pins. Bullet Proof - period.
-
Get rid of the sight... I gap shoot off thet ip of te arrow... much easier and normally don't get knoked loose!
-
on bow armortech 7 pin and the other bow spott hogg 7DP they both are great sights cant go wrong with either
-
Copper John Mark 3. 7 pins with extension bar. Works great
-
SDP Wrapped and custom pins, SH 5 pin, HHA Dial single pin on New Tac Helim. For sale HHA! :chuckle:
:twocents:
-
Black gold! Rush 7 pin I think. Awesome warranty and very bright and rugged.
-
Just bought a Black Gold Vengeance 7 pin, $117.50 on Amazon. :IBCOOL:
-
Black gold vengeance 7 pin. The rest has been said.
-
Currently shooting a 5 pin black gold rush.
-
Spot Hogg 5 pin hunter Hogg it with wrap. I have also used black fold but it was a rattle trap. I couldn't get past the noise.
-
1.Single pin, because I have a short attention span and can only focus on one thing at a time.
2.The smallest diameter possible, because it makes me feel better about myself.
3.Slider, because Im not good enough to "gap pins" and I cant estimate yardage so I have to range everything.
4.SureLoc, cause I have been this uncool since before the pig speck brand even made a single pin slider.
On a serious note, those are my preferences in a sight, maybe or maybe not for those exact reasons. Those CBE Tec Hunters spec'ed as noted above do look nice...

Trophy Ridge React 5 Pin Bow Sight
Why?
Because It was expensive and I figured It would be a good site :chuckle: Its solid and so far so good.
-
I shoot with the default sight on the PSE Rally bow because I am to broke to get a good one. It works for now though.
-
Spot Hogg 5 pin hunter wrapped.

Just sighted it in last week, I love it
-
Armortech! Because I shot Spot Hogg for years and I wanted an upgrade!
I also shoot Sure-Loc sliders. Because sometimes rabbits at 100 yards just need a good thumping!
I have fought target panic since '85. Most of the time I have it well controlled and have no problem using the five pin sight. But some years it seems to get the best of me and a single pin slider helps keep it manageable. All my ground blind bows have sliders regardless of whether I'm having a bad year or not.

Spot hogg

SpotHogg TommyHogg for the last few years. Gets me out to 200 yards on the targets and a tough accurate, durable sight for those rough and tumble bow hunts!

I shoot a spot Hogg because it came on my bow when I got it
-
Hogg 7 pin with the .10's. Couldn't be happier for a hunting sight. I have a Boss Hogg 5 pin that I can get 230+ yds out of, but that's just a fun shooting sight. Damn hard to beat the Spot Hoggs period. :twocents:
-
Looking at a new sight and I would like opinions on the Alpha V5 micro. I like the idea of vertical pins but never shot em. Pros and cons?
It's between that one and the Black Gold Vengeance which I've shot before and loved it.
Currently have a fuse carbon 3 pin and do not like it.

Either will be a great improvement over the Fuse, but both fall short in quality to the Pig Spot or TruBall. Most of my family shoots the Trophy Ridge vertical. Nothing wrong with it other than it's huge! Brother and Nephew together shoot about a dozen east coast whitetails per year with them. I've only tried the Vengeance once and the one I had rattled to beat heck and was ugly as sin. That was enough for me. But again...WAY better than the fuse!

What is this Amortech you speak of? ;) My Spot Hogg Hunter Hogg It has been bullet proof and the microadjustability is awesome.
I might get a slider for my backup bow to play around with.

I have the top 3 pins in .019 and bottom 3 is .010. I don't use the 7th pin, yet. I do want to upgrade from the wrapped 7DP to the Hogg it site eventually.

Black gold acent 4 pin DIAL OF DEATH. The sight is a killer.... Tough, bright, and let's you stretch out to 130 yards while practicing. I guess spott Hoggs are ok ;-) but I like my acent better than my SDP
-
I tried to like my black gold sight but it had too much "shake, RATTLE, and roll" going on. I still have it but it is on my backup bow.
-
Spot Hogg Hoggit
-
Overwhelming use of Spot Hogg..
-
Custom 7 pin Black Gold Vengence with 6 inch dovetail. But I will say Spott Hogg makes an ok sight. Lol. Most of the sights made today are quality sights.
-
Acuvue Oasis, because I can't see ch!t without em. Other than that off the shelf both eyes open :o
