What type gun do you use for hunting birds?
I got a charles daly over and under for upland birds and a benelli nova for waterfowl
-
Remington 1100. The best hands down.....As long as it is clean. :chuckle:
-
I have a older Charles Daly Miroku (Japan made mid 60's) over and under in 28 gauge bored skeet and skeet. I also have a pair of Remington 11-48, 28 gauges, also bored skeet. All three of these guns weigh in at exactly 6 lbs. 0 ozs. A pleasure to carry all day. Over pointing dogs....nothing better for pheasants, quail, huns, and chukars. Of course you're shooting fairly quickly out to 15-25 yards.
-
Forgot to mention....actually have used one of the 11-48's over decoys. Instant death. But then again as I mentioned above, shooting out to 15-25 yards, which I generally shoot at ducks over decoys anyway. Nice thing about skeet choke...you can be off slightly in your aim, and they still go down.
One other thing.....a box of 28 gauge shells in your vest ways about same as 7 or 8 12 gauge shells. Makes it nice hking all over after upland birds.

Stevens Model B Fox 12 gauge side by side and the matching .410. Those have been my bird guns since I was a kid and love them too much to shoot anything else. (Many good memories) I've also taken deer and coyotes with them as well.

my goose, duck, turkey, phesant gun is an old 870 12 ga. in 2 3/4" that works just fine for me!
-
Browning auto 5. Browning auto 5 and Browning auto 5.
-
Browning auto 5. Browning auto 5 and Browning auto 5.
That's a good one. I have one in 16 gauge that shoots 2 9/16 paper shells, ever heard of that? I only have 24 shells for it. I love A5's.
-
Right now...... New England Arms single 12ga. for me, Rossi Single 20ga for the wife. Trying to talk her into an 870 though. Only really hunt grouse, quail on our property right now.
-
I use a Beretta 686 onyx O/U in 20 gauge. Its great for all upland game, because it is so light and quick. And I'm going to see how it work for ducks too. 8)

Remington 11-87
-
Browning auto 5. Browning auto 5 and Browning auto 5.
Light weight A-5, Mag A-5, Citori, Mossburg 500, Mossburg 500, all in 12 ga. I like them all. The last two are beat up 'cause they were our Alaskan fishing guns (short barrells, no plugs,)
-
homemade takedown recurve, and a dozen homemade flu flu arrows ;)
-
Ruger O/U 20g for uplands and Ruger O/U Stainless synthetic 12g for waterfowl. Used the 20 for ducks for a long time but was seeing too many geese and figured the 20 was to light for that big of a bird. The 20 knocked the Heck out of the ducks over decoys.
-
12 ga Beretta 686 onyx OU for upland and Rem 1100 in 12 ga for ducks and geese.
-
Remington 870 and a Beretta over/under.
-
Nice old Winchester 101 in 12g with fixed imp cyl/mod chokes for upland. Have a Beretta model 302 for waterfowl.
-
I use either of the O/U I picked up in Turkey both are double triggers with full chokes, in 2003 killed over 160 pheasants with them while I was in England. As far as waterfowl mossberg 500.

When I was in England I bought my daughter a 410 that was made in 1880 and it will only shoot a 2 inch paper shell. Before I left I picked up about 1000 rounds of it and used my 410 to plink them off at rabbits and pigeons.

I knew that in Europe they had some funny rounds. Mine is a Belgium Browning. I wonder if it was meant for the Eruo market? I found the only box of shells I have in an estate sale. I saw that it was a box of 16 gauge 2 9/16 with one missing. I asked where the shotgun was and no one knew. I bought the box of shells for 2 bucks. :chuckle: I told them that they were worth more but they didn't care, just wanted a couple bucks.
I checked into turning it into a 2 3/4" gun, it can be done but I don't know if I want to or not. I would like to be able to use it more though.

remington 870 12 ga.
-
skb/ithaca model 500 featherweight 20 gauge o/u mod over full fixed chokes. really light and a good shooter.
-
I use either my 870 or a shot barreled model 11.
-
The 410 that I bought for her I have only shot maybe 4 times, and that was after I bought it and gave it a really good cleaning and then just to see how it shot, pretty dang good for being as old as it is. Now it is wrapped in a clean cotton towel and sitting in the gun cabinet.

I thought that some company was making a 2" shell for 12ga's. Can you amagine how many you could put in an extended tube magazine!

870 for me
-
Browning Citori for upland birds/clays and Mossberg 500 for folw
-
Rem 870 20 gauge for most flying things and a mossburg 835 12 gauge for tougher stuff (gooses and pass shooting ducks).
-
beretta al391 hands down amazing
-
My Charles Daly semi auto gets the most use, but sometimes I use my Stoeger Condor O/U. Love them both.
-
older 870 wingmaster and luv it
-
12 G Benelli Nova for turkeys, upland and waterfowl
-
I use a Stoeger P-350 (basically a nova) for waterfowl and a really old Winchester model 12 in 16ga for upland that was my g-dads, then uncle's, then dad's now mine.
