Title: Glacier Creek Rd Closure
Post by: StuckoYota99 on May 25, 2013, 12:37:22 PM
Anyone else read that in the Tribune? Small washout has the road closed about 7 miles short of the Heliotrope trail head.  :yike:

The article stated that there was no funding to rebuild the road, and is closed to vehicle use.

Info from forest service site

The Forest Service has closed Glacier Creek Road (Forest Service road 39) to vehicle traffic at mile 1.0 (Thompson Creek) due to a washout at mile 2.7. Hikers and climbers can hike, bike or walk 7 miles to the Heliotrope Ridge Trailhead. There is no estimated repair or reopening date at this time.

Thanks for the info.  Was thinking about heading up there this weekend.  That would have been a real bummer
