Title: Klick Co. Short Beard Down!
Post by: HUNTINCOUPLE on May 29, 2013, 10:30:56 AM: Since the nephew got his long beard during youth weekend hunt its been hit and miss for me. Lots of close encounters and finnaly got this 5 1/4" short beard bird yesterday afternoon. He came in quite to a double cluck per run with a triple yelper with a twist of the yelp chuckle. Ya its a custom sequence I came up with yesterday knowing the season is coming to a close. Desperate times call for desperate measures! :chuckle:

Sometimes when they hear it so oftwn whether hen or hunter they ignore it. Later i the year I'm not a afraid to reach out with either longer sequences or just making wierd squeaks and pops on a mouth or pot call. One year I got a tom during Mem day weekend using a long drawn out assembly yelp. All he would hit. Three or four yelp series would do nothing,but when I ran off 10-15 yelps in a row he'd double gobble and cone running. Just never know what they want to hear til they answer back.
