Not sure this is even worth posting. I admittedly know practically nothing about engines...but here goes.
I have an old (is there any other kind?) Eska 2.0 motor that came with my boat. It runs, kinda, but I'd love if it did better.
First, the idle adjustment does not seem to do a thing...probably not a big deal, but worth noting I guess.
Second, it will not start choked. Try to start or run in anything other than a fully open choke and it quickly dies.
Third, it seems to run fine for a while (15 minutes or so), then dies and can be a pain to restart. Assuming it has to do with heat, but don't know. The longer I use it, the more difficult it gets to restart.
Considering it's age, not sure anyone really does any repairs on them anymore (would cost more than it's worth, I assume). Any suggestions on getting it running better, for a novice (I'm willing to take some risks with it)? Anyone know where to find a manual for it?
Thanks.

So I've discovered this evening, after toppings off the gear lube last night, that my prop seal seems to be toast, as it's leaking the gear lube.
Any thoughts on whether replacing that seal is all that doable for a rookie?
