I was just watching a show on outdoorman network and they were hunting blackies over bait on the Quinault reserve
ation and with the option for a second tag in one day. So, are reservations exempt from WDFW rules/regulations for baiting and # of tags?

Yes
-
Yes
:yeah:
-
they have been baiting them for hundreds of years and putting other tribes on them for trading furs and such ... It's there tribal rights ! we all should be able to bait it's a stupid law !
-
Welcome to the "not the same for all people game"
-
All I need to do is put out the garbage and wait !
-
It's total BS that they can bait and not the rest of "us". You should see what they do to the elk herds too.
-
They are a separate nation. We can't tell Canada or Mexico how to regulate hunting either.
-
Sum of the best elk hunting in Washington are in areas where it is rumored the Indians wiped them out.
As for the bear baiting. Pretty much answered above. Separate nation not under state law. If their citizens voted to make it illegal it would be.

But we don't have THEM running all over our country doing whatever they like, killing our animals, taking goverment money, sending money back to.......................wait a minute.???? :chuckle: Okay, not Canada

Many of us have on the old Mountain Home ranch for one

Separate Nation?? I've never seen a tribal air force, army or navy. How does this nation protect itself? How does this "nation" employ it's people? Tribal nation dept. of highways, etc.?? Just asking..........
-
Here we go....
:beatdeadhorse:
Tagging to see what happens.

Damn! Pretty Much Says It All. Good Point.

The tribes have been wiser than the state for keeping baiting open on their lands, good for them, it wasn't the tribes that voted out baiting in the rest of Washington, we need to be upset with the urban I-5 corridor for voting out baiting and hounds. :twocents:

:yeah:

How about just being upset with any of the mental midgets that voted out baiting and hunting with hounds (whether or not they live along the I-5 corridor? :dunno: (I'm sure there were plenty of people from Spokane and Tri Cities that voted for those initiatives as well). :twocents:

:yeah:
I live 1 mile form the urban i-5 corridor and wouldn't vote for something like that. Lets be mad at the people who did vote for it, not just people on the wetside..
-
But Bear that would be to difficult, why don't we just conrinue with the easy route and bash the Tribes. :bash:

I agree, there were some on the eastside who voted for it too, I meant the vast hugger crowd, not the good folks on the west side. :sry:

I can't say that I will always agree with the tribes, but the tribes had nothing to do with the huggers and some hunters who voted out hounds and baiting.

If this link works, it shows the 1996 Initiative results with a link to the county breakdown.
http://www.sos.wa.gov/elections/results_report.aspx?e=17&c=&c2=&t=&t2=5&p=&p2=&y= (http://www.sos.wa.gov/elections/results_report.aspx?e=17&c=&c2=&t=&t2=5&p=&p2=&y=)
Looking through, by my count only 9 counties voted against it:
Columbia, Douglas, Ferry, Garfield, Lewis, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Oreille & Stevens.

Thanks for clarifying. Most of those counties are region 1 counties that opposed, with the exception of Douglas and Okanogan (I think Region 2) and Lewis the only county on the west side to vote against it. I would say the statistics do show that the westside counties and the counties with larger populations on the eastside almost unanimously passed it. Now that more counties have large cougar populations I think the vote would be much different today in some of the smaller westside and some eastside counties, but the masses in Pugetropolis, Spokane, and other cities would likely still pass it. :twocents:

I didn't add votes but I suspect King County alone outvoted the counties that opposed I-655. The votes in King County were 2 to 1 in favor. :bash:
-
I really wish each county could vote on there own hunting laws. To much pull from king county to mess with all of the laws that have taken away baiting and hound hunting in our back yard. My dad has always said if they want them so bad and want to protect them. Lets load some up in the horse trailer and go deliver them :chuckle:

I would love to do that with a couple dozen wolves to downtown Seattle. :chuckle:

We're trying to get that done down here.
These need to be local decisions!!!
-
The sad truth guys is the measure didn't just pass in king county. Pretty surprising (sad) to see that it passed in almost every county. Follow the link.

The real question is how the hell does a game management decision get on the ballot to be decided by uninformed people that wear their emotions on their sleeves? :dunno: :bash: This country gets dumber by the day and the way we are going we can kiss it all good-bye in the not too distant future.

:yeah:
Game management by initiative measures is so completely stupid and insane. :bash: Just wait until wolves are delisted; once they are, you can bet there will be an initiative voted on to protect the wolves from any hunting seasons. >:(

we can start with the big boar i saw a couple weeks ago on your family's land in R-C canyon feeding on a fresh deer kill.
-
i say it should be a law that all tree huggers buny lovers or whatever should all have to live in king county, and then they can be happy leaf licking kulls all they want and live by their own liberal obama lovin rules and leave the rest of the state alone.....that would be saweeeeeeet

:yeah: well said!!!
