It was on facebook again today the fish cop wanted to give him a ticket for having a fish that was;nt a salmon but all day yesterday they had to give it back because of no rcw on the regulations. He showed me the pictures he had of it and boy it's big. They have them in the Umpqua and coos river in Oregon but did;nt have any records here. I don't know how to move a picture from facebook to here.
Pretty crazy, were the ones in the Oregon rivers illegally introduced a couple years ago or something I'm guessing? Didn't even know that they had any in those rivers.

They can and should give him a ticket. The WACs say that no commercial fishing is allowed in the colubmia except by emergency rule. The emergency rule specifies exactly what gear can be used and what can be retained. I'm willing to bet striper isn't on the list of what can be retained.

As far as the bass goes, I'm glad he killed it. I think bass, walleye, etc. should be allowed as incidental catch to all, commercials and sporties.

Region 6 management will openly tell you they don't have the man power to do emphasis patrols during commercial openers. That strikes me as odd since they call enforcement from all over the state for various recreational openers. I could be wrong, but this seems like just another example of enforcement not taking as hard of a look at the commies.
As far as the bass goes, I'm glad he killed it. I think bass, walleye, etc. should be allowed as incidental catch to all, commercials and sporties.
I glad it was kept and killed too! Think of all the 5lb smallies and 8lb walleye that 52# beast coulda munched! :o

He could have been ticketed, but I don't think he should have been ticketed for retaining a fish I love in the Atlantic, but which is a deleterious exotic in the Columbia.
