I'm in the market for good binoculars and was wondering if anyone here has first hand experience with these? Pretty much narrowed it down to these or Swarovskis.
-
They don't have the edge to edge clarity of the swarovision.. They are bright, though.
-
I've packed, as my personal optics, the following over the past 5 years:
10x42 el
10x50 slc
15x56 slc
12x50 Swarovision
10x45 Zeiss RF
10x42 Geovid HD
The Swarovision are amazing glass.
-
I have a pair of 10x42 el's and I am very happy with them. I dont think you can go wrong with swaros or zeis, they both make very good optics.
-
They are both top end and the differences are very small. The HT is reputed to be a bit brighter, the Swarovision has a flatter image. You should look through both and see which image you prefer. :twocents:

I have Swarovski 10x42 EL and they are great but a little heavy. I also have 8x32 Leica ultravid HD. They are much lighter weight so they get more use when I am hunting and to my eyes they are just as good as the Swarovski. Got a good deal from Cameraland.
-
I let you use my EL's and now your thinking about Zeiss??? Cant be a traitor like that. Swaro's are the way to go!!
-
LOL! :chuckle: :chuckle:

pm trophy hunt, he just got some new swaro's and he has done a ton of research and i mean a ton, he could probably answer any Q's you might have

I Am a rep for Zeiss so I say go with the HT's. Seriously though when you have been in the business of making lenses since 1846 and are still considered the gold standard over 150 years later there is a reason for it.

Exactly what I have noticed, they are both darn good, I had the Swarovski guys out for a hunt several years ago and so I ended up with Swarovski optics, but if Zeiss or Leica had approached me I would probably be packing Zeiss or Leica, any of the three are excellent, like Bob33 said, look through both and see which you like best.

They are all very good. Not many people know but Leica actually buys their glass already coated from Zeiss then builds the frames and assembles with their own carriages around the Zeiss lenses. I honestly don't know where Sworo gets their glass from they may make the lenses themselves. With those 3 vendors it typically comes down to your personal research, your goals and how they fit your eye. I'll tell you, price being equal, the guys who look through binos for a living will choose Zeiss almost 100% of the time.
Keep in mind that I am a rep for their medical products and not their field optics so this is based on my somewhat limited knowledge.
