Title: Opening Weekend
Post by: Hunting Cowboy on October 14, 2008, 08:37:21 PM: Opening weekend report.......Saw 3 bucks and a doe in the first basin up and feeding around 8:30am opening morning, a spike, a small two point and a whopper two point. Watched them for about 45 minutes @ 270 yards. They fed up the hill in my direction and passed by me at 100 yds. Lost count of the doe and small bucks over the weekend.

I did find a decent set of sheds on my way up the mountain. No rodent marks. The sides exposed to the elements were bleached out but the underneath sides still had good, natural color. I am in the process of bringing the color back to the bleached out sides.

Also, we enjoyed some outstanding sunrises over the weekend. It was good to be out there again! Congrats to everyone who scored and Good luck to everyone else on the rest of the season.
