This could possibly qualify as the longest recorded time passage. You know that time between the end of September and the start of the late archery seasons. We're in a state that you've got to choose your weapon and area, and that relegates us to the LLLLOOOONNNNNGGGG wait between seasons. I'd like to think that, when the late season finally does arrive, it won't fly by like the early season seemed to, but I think I know better. Before long it'll be February, and we'll be chatting avidly about how nice bucklucky and bowsandhose's bulls were.
Anybody else feel that Nov. 20 is about three months away?
-
YES! But at least there are ducks and geese to fill the void.
-
i have to wait until Sept 09 :bash: but have fun on the cold late hunt :IBCOOL: i will be bird hunting in the AZ
-
Yep, a LONG ways away. I am taking my cousin out this weekend though cause she has a rifle tag and her husband has to work, so at least I will be in the woods.
-
I know what ya mean there, but this year I bought my girlfriend a rifle deer and elk tag, she's never hunted before but at least I get 4 months in the woods.
-
I dont really want to be hunting bucks anyways in october, horrible month to hunt mature whitetails, would i like to be out a tad earlier yes, but I just head to 101 on the 10th ;)

You guys can all come back and hunt with me! season pretty much runs from sept 15th to 31 Jan, if you hunt during muzzleloader season with your bow you have to buy your muzzleloader stamp which is 6.50. Anyone want to the offer is always open. 35 acers of private land that is in an area classified as a bow deer suburban zone which means unlimited does.
-
:dunno:
Aren't there still bear, cougar, bobcat, 'yotes, grouse, rabbits and a number of other critters out there begging for attention? ;)
Still a few good weeks of high lakes fishing, too...(If you'v got rain gear...!!!) 8)
Yes, the wait is a little tough...but there is plenty to fill the void.
If ya get really bored, go buy a cheap used recurve on ePay and try and pick up instinctive shooting in 6 weeks. That'll keep your shoulder sore and your mind occupied. :P

that sounds like a great offer

The offer is open, non resident license is 155 bucks and then bow stamp is 35. I think, and then you can shoot as many does as you want, and you can take two bucks with your bow.

you gotta love others states seasons and prices compared to good ol' washingtons prices and seasons. :bash:

Is this in MD or VA?
-
it is in maryland only. I went out Friday morning on my way home from work and the landowner is watching his son's dogs and they were out and running around and I turned the truck around and headed for home. When the dogs are around the deer won't be anywhere near his place.

Wish I could afford the trip back east! I would take you up on that offer!
-
I am back east but without my bow or anytime during the week to hunt. Bummer!
I am working in D.C. Monday thru Friday.

The land I hunt on is South of DC on 210.. With my work schedule the way it is I hunt 5 days one week and 2 the next week, either on my way to work or on m way home from work. I went out Wednsday morning and saw 6 does right at sunrise but couldn't get a shot at any of them because of the underbrush.
