I was just going through some of last years trail cam photos and saw this photo of what I originally thought was a dog. Could it be a collared wolf?
This is between Republic and Curlew. The nearest house is a couple miles away, so a dog seems unlikely. :dunno:

I vote wolf. :dunno:
-
I would say wolf as well.
-
It is definitely a DOG. You can shoot stray dogs.
-
Bobcat? :dunno:
-
dog with rabies! Take him out!

I say dog.

Looks like a wolf itself, but looks like it's a pet collar. :dunno:
-
dog. no doubt.

I think I should have stuck with my first instinct....Dog.
-
puma? :dunno:
-
dog (looks like it might have a little hybrid in him though)
-
That's a pet collar, there is no transmitter box on it!

Sure looks like a wolf. Unusual collar. Maybe it is the guy's wolf dog that got into a fight with the wolf on the back deck.
-
The wolf lovers now have proof that wolves prefer grain over ungulates... :chuckle:

House cat

looks like a wolf/husky mix that was a pet that was either dropped off to die or wanders a long ways from his home in the night :hello:
-
Two miles isn't far for dogs running around at night...
-
We have had quite a few sightings of "wolves", the same color as the picture, around the Curlew area in the past few months. Nobody has taken a picture for proof.
-
There are lots of wolves around Curlew and Republic and in this area, I just dont think this is one of them. Its also not too uncommon to have "wild" dogs running about in this area, however this one looks in good shape. Somebodies sled dog out for a romp.
-
Looks like a dog with a brown leather collar.
More and more dogs are running around these days with shock collars, bark collars, and invisible fence collars. Then there is the Garmin Astro which has a long antenna hanging off it. Depending on the time of year and where you are you want to be darn sure you aren't plugging someone's dog that happens to have electronic hardware around it's neck when a season does open. Saying " I thought it was a wolf" after shooting someone's black German Shepherd (some lines can clear 100 lbs guys) or husky that got out of eye shot on a hike probably won't go well in court when the destruction of property charges are filed.

no longer?

Was there a sighting of Bigfoot nearby holding an empty leash?
-
Bearpaw is right, that's a dog collar not a radio collar. Too narrow and wrong color. Also, look at his ear. It's a dog. Pretty one at that. Unfortunately somebody might have dumped him off in the area just to get rid of him. I see this alot where I live. It sucks.

house cat :twocents:
-
Husky type dog!
-
I think the one on the left is a polar bear, and the one on the right is a wolf.
