I have a .338 Win mag that currently shoot Fed 225gr real well. I want to start reloading for it but wouls love to hear what you guys think. So, what is your great load for this caliber? Thanks in advance..........already know to stick with 225gr bullets, also it dosen't like boattails...............

I had a 338 Win. when I lived in Alaska. I am not a great shot just as Huntwa, but I did get a few critters with the 338. My best shot was a caribou that a buddy had wounded and was running away. I caught it at the top of the tail...the bullet followed the spine through the diaphram, lungs, heart and out the chest. Exit wound was big enough to pass a football though. I did that at 400 yards...never do it again either, just plain ass good luck.
The next caribou I shot at about 50 yards. go figure???? He came over to see what we were doing to his buddy.

I have worked up a great load for my .338mag. 200 gr Hornady pushed 3000fps in the coronagraph. Work your way up with to 76.6 gr IMR 4831. ( mag primmer) My Ruger 77 loves it. Start off by checking the MAX load in any manual. Start about in the middle and go from there. Serria came out with a 215 gr boattail I have yet to do some loading for but it should be an awesome bullet. Good luck!

I gave up on the .338, nothing against it I just liked my .300 better. I had good luck with IMR4831 and I really like the Accubonds.

My Browning likes Sierra 215 GMK pushed by 71gr of H4350. This is my elk load. I hope I connect with one this year. I'm so pleased with how this load shoots. I called Sierra and they said it should be great elk medicine. I've also loaded up some Hornady SST in 210 that my gun seemed to like. Do some google searches. Looks like guys are happy with 225gr partitions too.
