I'm guessing the above posters are missing the nuances from the OP. Yup, sure looks like a REALLY big coyote or hybrid (which are legal to shoot?)  :dunno:  ;)

Maligator,
Thanks. I did show the picture around and they all said coyote.
Wolves were much larger.
And I agree he is a big one.

I spotted him just outside of the town we were passing through.
He seemed interested in the pizza I was eating.
I also spotted a nice black bear, but the pictures were not in focus.

I'm thinking Seattle or Tacoma, maybe Olympia?

What town were you passing through. This may clarify things.

 :bash:
I did not throw any pizza at the animal.
There were others along the highway trying to coax the animal closer to them.
I was on a schedule, so I took the picture and was on my way.

One question I need to ask. What is your opinion of the photo? Did I set up the shot correctly? I tried to center the animal in the picture. What about lighting?
Thanks

Lighting looks as good as as possible, though you could have had the subject move to the middle of the road, ...... for perspective of coarse,

Well, if those children in the car in front of me were able to coax the animal via hand feeding, (they were outside of the car and had food in their hands), but I did not stay around to see.  Maybe the animal went over to them? That was what the animal was looking at when I snapped the picture.

There is no positive outcome that will come from this :twocents:
