Title: Nocturnal Nocks
Post by: MattySuto on July 01, 2013, 05:18:06 PM
Hey everyone,
I just purchased Nocturnal Nocks for archery this season i  just pulled them out of the package yesterday only 2 out of 3.. put them in my arrow anfired them.  They didnt light up like they were supposed to. I had to use the string to turn them on first to make sure they light up but they arnet working as advertised. Do you need to work the swith in like turn em on then off then on then off to get the swith from not being so sticky?? Has anyone else had this problem.   i havent shot the 3rd one yet but im hoping that i didnt get a bad batch.  Any info please let me know or if i shoulf try to lube  the switch.

Never had them not turn on. Sounds like you have bad ones there. Where did you get them?

Not familiar with nocturnal nocks.  Do these use contact wires or do you have to glue a plug in the back of the arrow to activate these?

Some of the light up nocks need to move in the back of the arrow to activate.  I've had some that fit a little too tight.  I just take some sandpaper and grind a little material off.

I worked the switches and they work good now..... There's a small switch in the middle of the nock just needed to break in...

Nockternal use the force of the shot to turn the switch on. The ones ive used worked great from shot one. They seem to be easier to use and turn off then some and no magnets to worry about on your bow.

They're gravity/g-force fed. They're supposed to be able to sit on your string without lighting up then the force of your string pushing them off, is supposed to push the Impact ball into the contact,
So its like O----O| then when you shoot it should move to OO----|. Then to turn them off you just stick something small like a pen or field point into a small hole and push them off the contact.

Id try to work them in alittle if you can. They are known to have bad batches of nocks every once n awhile though. But all in all, out of the package you shouldn't be having any problems. What poundage are you shooting, and how well do they sit on your string when you nock them? Do you gotta kinda force them into until they click or do they pop on real smooth?
Try what huntingfool7 said and experiment with sanding off alittle material on the inside of your nock throats, It might help for activating the light trigger.

Smossy,

I shoot a PSE Stinger 62lbs, but your dead on with the working them in which i did i was able to get them all to fire, but i was looking at how they sit in the string and i have to kinda force them just a little to sit fully on the string. ill snap them on the string but then look an theres a little gap so ill push them a little harder until its flush with thte string, but they are now all workign great.. thanks for the reply's and infromation.  Good luck Hunting this year.

Matt
