Ill be out there as usual. But what new access limitations are you speaking of???? Rayonier permit areas arent new and i havent heard of any other access related issues.

Weyerhauser sold 650 access permits for Pe Ell tree farm.
-
Does Weyerhauser Pe Ell extend into the areas just north of Skamakowa?? Anyone have a map of the Weyerhauser Pe Ell farm that they could throw up here??

That link should show PeEll and Vail map links.

Ya, I was referring to the Weyco permits...
-
Is this area "weyerhauser" gates now only accessible to those who have the permit, or can you still walk in or bike in? I am not clear on whether this just gives drive in access to those with permits and you could still walk in or bike in with out one.

All access requires a permit

You should have no issues in the Skamakowa area. Most of this land is further north.
-
Why is this area permit only?

Go a little further up hwy 4 from Skamakowa and you get to the Fossil Creek/Grays River area, that's Rayonier land. Also note that Weyerhauser recently bought Longview timber. I imagine that newly aquired land may have permit required next season.

Why is this area permit only?
The unit itself is not permit only, it has general seasons, however the permits everyone are referring to are land access permits from timber companies Rayonier and Weyerhauser, reasons being pretty obvious...$$$

i figured it was just for access to the land. I just hope that in the future all weyco land dont go permit only for access.

Hope all you want, but it is going to happen

I don't think all of Weyco land will go permit. From what I know they have to make so much of there land open to the public to maintain tax breaks. But :dunno:
