One cat was shot opening weekend and another with ran off.
Today had two come down the curve of a log road in front of me at about 50 or 60 yards. When they saw me they ran off in different directions.
This was about 2 miles from the one that was shot.
My question is there is a lot of deer sign and some elk.
How does this effect the deer hunting in the area? Do the cats take that many deer. It been tough to see them, plus the weather is not helping.

I'd buy my second tag and try to fill them both ;)

If you have a cougar tag you better start shooting. :guns: You won't have elk or deer left in the area if theres cats. :dunno:The couger meat taists as good as deer meat. Start calling with a preditor call ( Rabit or fawn bleat). Stay in one place for at least 1 hour and use a decoy ( a feather or wing from a bird that will turn in the wind. The cat will come in to the movement. So ...you better sit still! :chuckle:

I've heard that an adult cougar eats about a deer a week...
