Pushed two BIG coyotes out of a canyon in GMU 328 this past week. Big, broad backs. Obviously well fed. About 50 yards up the canyon from 8 deer that we'd pushed out just minutes earlier (6 does, 1 fawn, 1 spike). They probably were strategizing on an approach on the fawn.... >:(
Both my hunting partner and I drew down on them. It was awfully tempting not to bust both of them when they stopped and gave us the stink eye. Afterwards, we looked at each other and said "They were blue!" Definitely a noticeable blue tint to their pelts in the sunlight. I've seen lots of mulies--especially in WY for some reason--that definitely have blue in their fur but hadn't noticed it in yotes.
