Title: Which spot would be better?
Post by: Critter Ritter on July 19, 2013, 12:23:18 PM
I have 2 good bear spots to hunt this year. One spot A is at 2000ft elevation and spot B is at 4000ft elevation. I don't know witch one I should I hunt first they are both good.
which one do you think I should hunt opening morning?

It is totally dependent on the food source.  Without knowing the location, that question is nearly impossible to answer.  Go the day before and see which has lots of food and bear poo.

spot A is very steep and has lots of Berry plants on it. and spot B has 1500yrds of rockslides with lots of vegetation along the slides.
And its on the Westside.  On Hancock Property.

Food is the key.  Lots of berries sounds promising if they are ripe...

Thank you for all the info I will go up before the season starts and see if I see anything and how ripe the berries are.

 :yeah:

In my spots this year def more activity around 2000ft due to ripe berries,  If its like last yr about mid August they push out of the lower spots and I start looking higher

:yeah: if your not hunting where there is something for him or her to eat , you are just wasting your time ...On the wetside I can stand and look at a mountain range and see bear looking areas . even though they look good does not mean squat if there is no food source...rock slide areas are great as long as there are berries for them to eat ...right now I would be looking for areas with salmon berries and water ! :twocents:
