-
Not a professional Bear biologist but don't Griz have faces that are more dish or concave looking faces?
-
Black bear.
-
This is a black bear. I may be wrong but looks a hell of a lot like a grizzly.
-
alright so this is like a 25" boar?
-
The face and ear's are a dead give away. IT is a big bear though
-
Both Black Bear
-
The melon on this guy made me think he was a griz, along with the hump. Not to mention all the other bears on this same camera are only as tall as the log. This guy dwarfs the log........your probly right.....My buddy and I were convinced until ya'll had to burst my bubble. Big bear tho
-
well its better this way, means you can go hunt it, and yeah, big bear for sure. be an expensive rug. ive been lucky enough to see wild grizzlys up close and personal (too close maybe) and theres no question about their identity when you see one, they make an impression
-
Sure aint ever going to try to hunt a grizzly with a bow, even if you were able to buy tags for them, noo way jose. Wrastling a black bear to the ground and stabbing it in the heart is one thing, but a grizzly nu uh.
-
black bear that needs to hit the dirt!!!!
-
Yup, nice looking Black bear there. That bad boy will prolly disappear come hunting season :dunno:
Didn't get that big skylining whilst eating berries for sure!
-
Shooters for sure

you ever see the pic of the monster chuck adams took with his bow? if you havent, do a search on it. i wouldnt think about trying either. id much prefer a 300 yard shot on a grizz
-
Toad! Must be something good to eat around there.
-
black bear that needs to hit the dirt!!!!
:yeah: monster bear
-
That is a pig of a bear. I'm seeing a life size mount that would be incredible!!

I think this one is a grizz, this is not my picture!!!! There is a thread on here from someone that took this pic in Pond Oreille County, I think it was 2010? Cant remember....
-
:tup:Now that's a grizzly !!!! :yike:
-
That first one is an incredible blackie. Nice trophy. Those latter a cool grizz shots. Kinda like wolves, when you really see one, there is no mistaking it.
-
That black bear is impressive. :yike:
-
wait intill you see one on your elk ! no doubt who the boss of the woods is then.
-
hellofa blackie, would love to see a pic of that one in the dirt! Note the lack of a 'dish plate face'.
Second one is a grizz for sure.
-
Very nice black bear! The ears and ficial features give it away! Montana has a great tutorial and test if anyone is interested. http://fwp.mt.gov/education/hunter/bearID/ (http://fwp.mt.gov/education/hunter/bearID/)

Ya, the grizz pics were taken by my uncle in 2010 basically in his yard up near boundary dam.
That is one heck of a black bear!!
-
big bears up there..we got a few of them
-
It's better to mistake a black bear for a grizz, than a grizz for a black bear :tung:

Was it a black bear or a grizz they had running around up there back in the early 2000's? I can't remember for sure, we went up there to fish the creek and they told us we couldn't go towards the waterfall because there was a bear up there.

Huge Black!
