Went to check trail cameras in SW Washington towards the coast for September early season elk. Got some great bulls on camera and as we are flipping through the pictures we see these guys. Keep in mind this is behind locked gates with no access unless bike or hike in. Closest house is around 5 miles away with nothin but steep canyons and timber, and across a main highway. What do you guys think? Wolves?
-
Initially looks like a wolf, especially the one in the back but the one in the front I am not sure about. Wouldn't surprise me though! My logical side leads me to think they are dogs though.
-
Looks like a couple of dogs to me...
-
My vote for dog, I was always under the impression that a curled tail (as pictures by the lighter) is dog. Wolves tails are straight and bushy, with no curl at all. :dunno:
-
Dogs.
-
:yeah: Dogs
-
bigfoot hybrid.

I would say Dog's but who know's what WDFW has dropped off around this state I know a guy who say's he seen two wolves above greenwater!
-
Tails and ears are the giveaway for me.

People say they see wolves everywhere. I heard someone say there was wolves in Fall City......
-
Search .. Find... Destroy.. Wolves or dogs. Either way there running game
-
I just forwarded your pics to WDFW. They said they are cougars.
-
in the first pic it looks like there is 3, the black one looks like a dog but maybe its a younger wolf. either way they are deer chasers and need some lead, besides there aint no wolves here they are wild dogs and there you can blast away  :twocents: :chuckle:

Greenwater isn't to far from little naches so who know's if there in little naches they will be above greenwater before you know it!

The best way I know of finding out what they are is the next time you are in the area, just go around whistling and saying "here boy, here girl" and if the animals don't come to you they are wolves.
-
The packs can move into an area quickly, hard to say. They do look a little like dogs tho.
-
Come on now!!! Everyone knows that is the wire haired woodland wiener dog. :chuckle:

I would definitely say dogs based off this, very pointy and straight up ears pictures.

I forgot about those. We have a winner winner chicken dinner.
-
Dogs.......
If they were wolves they would be eating a fawn....circle of life and all.
-
Its hard to tell from a trail cam picture. Do you have any ATL pics that we could compare?
-
Atl?
-
Just to add to the thread.. 10 days later after the first pictures these "dogs" are still in the area??
-
Atl?
As They Lay.
-
:sry: it was a bad joke. Dont post any pics of that. Obviously be safe checking your cams and hunting that area.
-
I wouldnt count it out that there not wolves, I seen a big ass jet black "coyote" looking animal 2 years ago that still has me wondering wtf it was..
-
They're German Shepard's I bet. Wolves do not curl their tails.

Use to read this on the net all the time. But some many guys from ID, MT, and WY have posted pics with wolves that have there tails curled that I don't believe it anymore.
-
I also think they are dogs. If they are as far away from people as you say, then they are definitely up to no good. My guess is running deer. I have seen this many times. Even if someone has a good dog, all it takes is a little neglect (owners at work 8 hrs a day), and the dog gets bored and starts wandering. Pretty soon he has a group of friends, and then they do exactly what dogs do. They hunt/chase.
-
-They look like damn wolves to me! Just judging by the Wolf I have mounted in my living room.. I remember before I shot him thinking he looked like a big dog! My vote is some type of wolf!
-
I hope he gets some more pics to post, better pics would be more conclusive.
-
We took the cameras down from the area since we got 17 more days til the opener, and we already have the bulls picked out that are in the area, I know the pictures are hard to tell exactly... Might never know
-
ain't a wolf a dog :dunno:
