So I have a set of easton axis n fused 300 spine and have three that have broken with mid impacts. They have struck wood after pass throughs on my target and all three have pushed the head back into the shaft very slightly and mushroomed the end :bash: I have done it wiyh muzzy's and muzzy mx4 now. Had the little collar on for the first one off on the next two :dunno:

There is a recall on Easton axis arrows right now. You might contact them and get reimbursed or?

Mushrooming a 300 spline arrow while impacting a solid object isn't normal? No sarcasm I am serious. All I shoot is the easton Axis and Cabalias stalkers and when they hit a tree or a 2x4 they do that. :dunno:

Ive had lots of arrows do this. Missed a few targets in my time and struck the ground, almost always guaranteed that the arrow is done for.

My 340 ics hunters and pro huntefs take it like nothing ever happend. So I think its a joke to spend that money on a arrow that does that but thats my .02
-
I shoot axis 340 spine and never had this issue unless I hit a rock or a tree :dunno:
-
They pass thru my target and hit the 2x4 behind doing this. Like I said my other arrows can do the same or even be shot right into the board and not break.
-
I shoot 340 spline st Axis without issue. I've unthreaded arrows from field tips stuck in a tree before. Same with a judo point in a stump. Just leave the tip in the wood.

The recall does not include the n-fused line of arrows. However I think very few arrows are designed to withstand (especially at todays speeds) an impact with solid wood. Sounds to me like the problem isn't necessarily your arrows, but your target not stopping your arrows. I use these same arrows and think they work great. I went down to my local feed store and bought a couple hay bales. Cost me about $10, sure beats blowing up arrows. Good luck

I font get why they will fail where a cheaper arrow doesnt. Ive dont the same with my other arrows with out a problem shooting the same speed. Im shhoting a bowtech insanity 30" fraw 73lbs and I really need a 300 spine, the only arrow in town are the axis. Looks like its time to order some gold tips again cause ive tried to break them and couldnt short of a robin hood or steel plate.

Yeah I hear ya there. I have done that with cheaper Cabela's brand arrows. Admittedly though I have not shot my n-fused into wood so I don't know on that. I am serious though if you are getting pass throughs on your target with that much force still behind it, I think I would be putting up a backstop and looking for a new target to stop those arrows better.

Gold tip kinetic!

The only target I hqve found that stops my bow is a fiepd point only which doesnt help when I shoot my broad head. My broad head will squirt out the back of my target from 40yds so up close thers no chance it will stop them.

What kind of target do you use?
-
ive tried a bunch of broad head targets havent got enough money to pick up a Rinehart yet but ive tried everything but them and the biggest block big block targets out. Have tried cross bow targets and after a couple shots its going right out the back.

I guess if your primary criteria for buying an arrow is how well it holds up to being shot into 2x4s then more power to ya...
-
I guess you cant see a arrow thats half the price can take the same hit. I dont see paying 70+ for six arrows that cant take a hit after coming out the back of a target isnt worth the money :twocents: the gold tip kinects can take the same Hit and fly's better at range and is the same price or cheaper, they take it woth the hit inserts too.

Actually the recall is only for n-fused axis.

might want to check out some black eagle deep impacts.best arrows ive shot thus far(pretty new to this, but i buy a lot of arrows)
they also make a rampage that is similar to the axis.i just dont like the idea of the hidden inserts but i think they have an outsert also

Last year I switched to carb ex max and the knocks break or fall off? Don't like the tree behind target either. I am going back to beman ics. A few still in the tree! They are the toughest I have used. Shoot the same as the $$ ones for me and way cheaper.

No, they are for the axis focused energy, not the n-fused. Two different arrows. Gotta read the whole thing.
-
The axis focused energy are n-fused axis. Same arrow. Focused energy is more of a phrase, not the name of the arrow.

You know what man, you are right they are the same. I guess I have different lot numbers than those cause I have a different label on mine. Sorry my bad.

No biggie, just didnt want someone shooting a bad batch of arrows if they had them. :)

No I appreciate it. You made me have to go double check mine again. I ordered mine off ebay and they look slightly different. I am wondering if I got a knockoff.

Is the label more of a greyish color instead of green? The older axis like the ones in the pic had a label with lots of green. About two years ago they changed the color to have a lot of grey in it.

Yeah mine look greyer than that pic. I'll bet thats what it is. Thanks

I checked the recall when it first cam out. I had another one split down the side and it didnt hit anything but my bag target :bash: im thinking some gold tip kinects pro are in my near future I might throw the hit inserts in them cause im not to sure about the out serts :twocents:

I've been shooting the n-fused since they came out however many years ago. I think they are fairly tough as far as impacting something head on, but if you whack something from the side they will bust right in half. For instance a few years ago I messed up on a bull at 17 yards, he came in from the left and as I followed him along he stopped, I shot and my arrow exploded. My arrow had hit a small dead tree I didn't see right in front of his vitals, glanced off the side of it and broke right in half. I've had it happen several times shooting 3d as well.

If your worried about them blowing up try xs75's in 2419 ! , the price you pay for hi tech arrows .
-
Mine did fine until I hit a cinder block. Only mushroomed it so I was impressed with that
