Vote for who you think will tag the first fall bear of the season. Please add names if not listed in the poll.
-
I voted for Ripper.....I think Rick is gonna have them lined up.
-
You might add PAW66 to the poll he is on that hunt too.
-
I voted for myself.
-
It will be someone who isn't going to post because they'll shoot it over bait tonight probably.
-
I voted Smossy cause he doesn't have a Job. :chuckle: More time to find a bear.
-

What....noboby ( from Concrete) is on here that baits (with doughnuts) would shoot one like that!
I agree with Dale.....any of the guys with Rick have a great shot at opening day.
-
Dinker may be a good bet also. I'll be setting him up in a few spots where I saw the boo boo bears last week.
-
H20 you and the bro hunting this weekend?
-
Maybe......I'm planning on crabbing and fishing but if the boat isn't ready we will be out trying to fill his tag.
-
He can hunt with me if he wishes.
-
I got another vote :IBCOOL:
-
Small bears shouldn't count that's to easy then lol
-
He can hunt with me if he wishes.
I'll pass the word along.....
-
I voted Ripper...I figured D-Rock and H20 would probably meet up and kill a few beers the night before and get a late start. And Smossy will be trying to spear one with a GoPro on a stick. So it leads me to think Ripper. Plus he's got BEARMAN Rick on his side.
-
All valid points....you did forget Luvsmystang....oh wait....he and girlfriend are in AK fishing.....suppose that is acceptable.
-

-

-

You guys wont have any down by the time I get back on Monday anyway. I'm not concerned. Don't worry though, the .375 H&H is sighted in and ready to go. Hopefully I find a monster 80 lb cub that you guys passed on (fools).
-
My votes on Ripper  With that bald head of his, he is aerodynamic and will glide up those hills :chuckle:

Pretty much true. I have learned a lot from this website, mostly from reading a lot of threads. It is kind if addictive--I am glad Bearpaw doesn't charge for access.

Isn't there actually three different season starting dates? August 1, August 15, and September 1?

I voted for WhackNStack. Not influenced at all by my having seen him with the first dead bear pic in this thread or anything.
-
I slept in till about 3, I think I was depressed I couldn't make it out today... :(
How do you sleep that late (3:00) when it's light out? On my days off I have a hard time sleeping past 6:00 am...

My windows have black drapes, absolutely no light comes through.
Your body is used to getting up early though, out of routine it will keep doing it. I have no set schedule unfortunetly. The only time I can really get up at 6am is when my girl gets up for work or Im going to the river.
-
I got another vote :IBCOOL:
I VOTED FOR YA CAUSE I KNOW YOU'RE CRAZY 'BOUT BEARS AND HUNT'IN BUT I SURLY DON'T KNOW WHERE IT COME FROM,, I THOUGHT I BROUGHT YOU UP BETTER.
-
I lost you guys have surely been puttin an @$$ kicking on bears already. Now I'm work sat morning instead of bear hunting :bash:.
-
I almost pulled the trigger on a bear at about 300 yds today. I thought she was a sow but I wasn't really sure but after watching for about 5 minutes or so and having her in my scope several times I let her walk into the timber. I'm glad I did cuz when she came back out a couple of minutes later she had a couple of cubs with her. I watched them for awhile but when they started heading over to my buddies side of the cut I tried to call him to let him know she was a sow with cubs. His radio wasn't on!
I ran up my side of the cut and over to his side as quick as I could. As I came over the top behind him I could see him on his rifle and the bear out in front of him on a stump. I called out 'sow with cubs' and got him to stop just before he pulled the trigger. It was that close. I don't like bears eating fawns but I can't see letting 2 little cubs die a horrible death. We'll get after the big boar tomorrow.
-
Good on ya! Glad to see there are still some ethical guys out there! Karma will come back around.

Kudos. I tried to kill a bear for 3 years before getting it done, saw bears in range every year but couldn't be sure there were no cubs. It was worth the wait.
-
Glimpsed another bear today at about 250 yds but only had a few seconds to see him. I don't think it was the sow with cubs from yesterday but it may have been. She's got some red on her side as she looks like she's rubbed a little and I didn't see that today. I'm actually after a big boar in that canyon that is bigger (body size) than the 21 5/16 boar I shot there last year. The boar shoud be easy to spot unless he's lost the blue collar the game dept. put on him.
