I got a report that Sisu found some birds.
Jay sent me this email photo of Joe and Sisu with one of their birds.

Nice , what the hell is that thing on the end of his barrel ?
-
:dunno: maybe it's a tractor beam for pheasants :chuckle:

Thats what i was thinking ray :chuckle:

I believe it's a Cutt's Compensator; the "Old Way" of changing chokes and reducing recoil prior to choke tubes and LimbSaver recoil pads.

Hey Sisu, the dog has a bigger smile than you do. What the heck

Ok I finally got to doing some work on the computer even though my wife says I don't pay as much attention to her as this site.

Gus is tired after a day of hunting

Gus ran this guy down. He hit the ground hard and came up running like an Olympic sprinter. I was afraid the dog would lose him.

Pacyew, his brother Joe, Gus and myself. We've been friends since 1992!

Pacyew with his first sharp tail. Gus is still on the high and I'm just glad to lay down.

Joe with his pheasant, a model 12 and Gus watching to make sure that damn bird does not cause any more trouble.

Line shack.

I nearly stepped on this buck. Joe walked by him and as I got close he exploded out of the underbrush. Pacyew just happened to be taking pictures and caught most of the action. In my mind's eye I can still see the compacted muscles, folded skin etc. It was one of those things that will live in my mind forever.

Me with a rooster and Gus of course making sure all is quite in the back of the pack.

This is my first Lower 48 sharp tail. They are much bigger than what we shot in Delta. I was actually following a rooster that had shown himself. The first sharp tail came up and I let it go, then my mind started working and I realized I passed up a sharpie. The second one came up within a few seconds of the first so I guess my old mind still functions.

Sun rise at the cabin with family home in back ground.
I had a great time with great friends and it's always so much fun to be out with my dog.

Yes, we had a great time! Here's a little more of that buck that Sisu and Gus nearly stepped on.
-
Great photos!! Proof for anyone doubting a bucks ability to disappear in little cover. Until he lifted his head, you'd never see him - even from above! Great post Jay!
