Well I've been out everyday of the season and haven't even seen a bear yet. I know of 3 confirmed kills in my normal area seems to be getting a lot more pressure this year. Last night when I got to my car window smashed car trashed only took a sweatshirt and empty soft case that I know of. Worst part I heard them drive away. I was only about 100yds from the car. I hate dirt bags.
-
:yike:
Life expectancies for tweekers must go down on average during hunting season, I'd imagine... 100 yards between life and death.
Anybody up for setting up a bait car?? Got my "Any weapon" tweeker tag. They'll be back...
-
Same thing happened to a hunting partner of mine last year I believe it was the same area you hunt... anyway I've been nervous to go back there because of the chance that my car will be broken into. I've thought someone should put up a game cam and bait with cars. Just to get photo id of the people pulling in there to check out the cars. Sorry to hear that happened to you.
-
:yeah: Once they realize that there is a easy way of getting money for there habits they will be back. Sorry to hear your window and car were trashed. My question for you D rock is did you have any personel info they could use for Identify theft? IF so I would put a freeze on the credit. :twocents:
-
Sorry to hear that D-Rock. That really sucks having to worry about your vehicle while out hunting.
I don't have a game camera, but this is another good reason to buy one.

I would love to catch one of these guys and run him about 20 miles in the hills zip tie his hands and feet and just drive away.
-
Oh man I hate this, it happened to me in the past, the boy was duck hunting with his dad and they came back to a busted window....thieves suck >:(
-

I would recommend making them give over there shoes or boots and letting them walk back to town :tung:
-
Funner if they are stripped naked for the walk back, in the evening when the Skeeters are out in force

Sorry to hear that man...
-
D that just bites. I'm sorry to hear about window and the added hunting pressure
-
Hunting pressure doesn't bother me near as much as the window.
-
I'd take another vehicle back to that spot in a few weeks and camp out in the bushes and wait. Then I'd load up my quiver with Judo points and whack the *censored*s in the knees with a 430gr FMJ at 316fps :)
-
Sorry to hear that. They may "disappear" if caught. I guess copalis got hit hard by tweakers this spring too.
-
Wanna share the general area where it happened ? Like the Darrington area, or something like that, so others can keep a look see out for the same activity.
-
I forgot the mention the worst part they put ranch all over my door handle so when I grabbed it it was all over my hand.
-
I hate tweakers!!!!!!!!
sent from my typewriter
-
Ranch dressing? Who does that?? :bash: :bash: :bash:
-
That sux DRock! I'd be all for setting up a decoy car then dragging the dirt bags up in the hills and beating the crap out of them and leaving them to survive on their own. I hate thieves.
-
Makes me think it was kids :dunno:
-
I really like the idea of a bait car!
-
Anyone know a cheap auto glass place in snohomish county?
-
Put a sign on the drivers side door that reads "smile, you are on camera". Might work.
-
Funner if they are stripped naked for the walk back, in the evening when the Skeeters are out in force
:yike: :chuckle:
And pour honey over their head
-
I've been thinking about a note, even if you were to leave your car unlocked and write a note for the glove box and the center console, and just write:
"Seems too easy doesn't it? Maybe you should smile for the camera."
And even if you didn't have a camera, that'd be enough to freak some people out I'd assume. And just not lock the rig.
-

Whaaa? that's so weird. I'm sorry that happened, makes me seriously irritated. I get such paranoia about even leaving the house anymore because of tweakers and the like :(

I definitely like this idea lol.

He did my 2005 Denali windshield with the rain sensor in it, for $210.00. Without using insurance.

I'd probably write a note that said: "If you're reading this, you're in my rifle scope."

I'd prefer that was the case, but at this location I think they'd call BS because there are no vantage points.

No bushes?
Id actually be more terrified from a bow, then a gun. Last thing I want is a 2 + foot arrow with a razor blade tip piercing me to the door of the car. :yike:
-
Bows are quieter too!
Had to pay for parking at someones house this weekend apparently because its not safe to park in the woods while over by Neah Bay this weekend. I was real impressed.
-
It would be awesome to have them get out of there car go over towards yours then you and some buddies just unload a couple of AK's and AR's on there car with 100 round drums. :mgun: :mgun:
-
Are you sure it was ranch dressing on the door handle? There was a guy recently that made the news because he was "making love" to somebody's car. :yike:
:puke:
-
I'd shoot em with a hard rubber blunt tip arrow from a bow and then hollar out that the next one is a little sharper.

Sorry to hear D-Rock. I use Safe-Lite auto glass in Everett for my windshields.
One question, Is your registration still in the vehicle? I know of a couple cases in our area where the registration was taken and then they show up at the residence and rob it at a later date. May want to check...
-
I'll do that.
-
D.....if you go to Safelite in Everett talk to Shelby....Name drop me....might get you a better deal.
-
Man that sucks. Still qurious how you knew it was ranch dressing on your door handle? :chuckle:

:yeah: i am always game for fun like that, i cant stand friggin thieves, i fi catch one they WILL be going home with a few less digits
-
Im sorry to hear about your rig D-rock. Thanks for posting so those of us that hunt nearby have a heads up.
-
Those skeeters would be so high... Sorry to hear about the window.
-
Are you sure it was ranch? Just saying, hehe.
-
Sucks Drock. My brother got busted into along i 90 a few years back bear hunting, then when I was drawn for monroe spring bear, I had a couple motorbikers try busting out my windows (behind a locked gate no less).
Pricks are everywhere. I now leave a note in my window saying I am armed and close by, nothing in the vehicle is worth the risk.

I am very sorry to hear of your troubles, Sir. Please don't let it burn a hole into your heart. I got hit myself earlier this year, and I share your frustration/anger/sadness.

I Worry About That Everytime I Park At A Hate And Walk Away From My Truck.
Sorry To Hear. I Have Put Up A Trail Camera Before . Make Sure It Can Take A Pic Of A Plate Or A person
-
i think about this every time i leave my vehicle.... i leave my truck with nothing in it to steal. therefor if my trucks vandled it was a waste for them. if caught yes my 45 on my thigh will be involved...... bummer man. thieves have their place... >:(
-
Happened to me at that same place. Now I take every thing out of the truck and leave it unlocked. If its nice out I role the windows down. Those morons are not smart enough to check the doors before they bash your window.
-
I didn't have anything worth steeling in my car. From now on I will just leave it unlocked.

The terrible thing I have found about leaving your vehicle unlocked, is they will pop your hood and steal your battery. Ask me how I know :bash: As well as other things. Just keep that in mind. Crack heads will also cut the fuel line between the tank and the engine and take whatever they can and let the rest run out on the ground. They also steal catalytic converters if they can unbolt them. A little JB weld or similar on the top of the bolts/nuts fixes that.
If you are going to leave your vehicle unlocked get a locking gas cap (if you don't have one), and get a battery isolation switch (prevents them from turning on your headlights and having your battery drain down, while you are gone). At some point, vigilante justice is probably going to make a comeback in a big way... If I were you I would leave a donor beer on the passenger side floor out of sight but easily found. If it is gone when you get back you know someone visited your vehicle. Then at least they find something and move on.
One of these days it might be nice to setup a HuntWA crackhead roundup... Baiting completely legal.
-
Sorry to hear about that D-Rock. Hope your able to nail a big bruin man!
-

Yup, worms gotta eat too.
-
That sucks man sorry to hear... I've always been a little worried about that happening in some places I go in Mason County..

. If they want yo steel your crap ain't nothing going to stop them so you may as well not have your window bashed out.

Sorry to hear that D-rock. I worry about this every time I park at a gate. Maybe keep a pet rattlesnake in your rig while you're away from it. I hate thieves.
-
I saw a truck parked at a gate with a Rottweiler sitting in the truck seat during elk season. I guess the dog was the burglar alarm/security system. Would work pretty well during elk season, but not so much for August Bear season.
-
My luck someone would steal my dog.
-
I saw this guard dog a couple weeks ago.
Had to stop and take a picture:

Or someone would try to steal the dog and get bit and I would get sued :o

very sorry to hear... :bash:

I feel your pain. Happened to me the first day of a 7 day hunt in Toutle. Stole my $200 pack frame. I would have paid money to catch them.

That looks exactly like my old commuter car...the dent in the bumper/back panel matches!
-
Im sorry D, that sucks....alot of good ideas on here, baiting, cameras, guard dogs etc....
A few years ago we had our $1200 wall tent raided for goodies with 4 guys stuff inside, they took boots, gps, clothes, all sorts of stuff THEN as if that werent bad enough, then they set fire to the tent with the cots, bags, and whatever they didnt take still inside!
This took place pretty much out in the open, mid day, right by Taneum creek in one of the the first big spots by the river, in view of the road.... :twocents:
Hope you tag out this year!

I had really good service from Joe at Northwest Glass, he's mobile and had the best windshield prices around. 425-737-4950.

:bash: :bash: :bash: F-ing Tweaker's bait them up and use rubber bullets to the legs. :chuckle: :chuckle: Sorry to here about the brake in. I was broken into last humpy season at langus boat ramp 4 parking spots from the ramp. They took lots of hunting stuff, plus all truck, bike boat, trailer key and registration. The wurst was my birth cert. and personal info. I forgot to take out after work. I had to bring it to Bagor Naval base. :bash: :bash: They took about 3,000 in gear I can't believe know one saw anything. I was the 8Th boater the the ramp 6am and back by 8:30am with are limits. The ramp and parking lot had over a 100+ truck and trailers. :dunno: Every one walked right by them CRAZY. They also took my Garmen, and a lot of 3x Camo hunting clothes. I won't launch at that ramp except after 9am when the ranger show up. I will be installing and bolting a safe in my truck for keys and paper work and locking ever thing up like fort Knox. Do they have a Boone and Crockett for TWEAKERS

Punk kids I bet.....sorry that sucks

Friggin thieves! :violent1:
but from pain comes genius. We need to work up a scoring system for tweakers. Otherwise, how will anyone know who nailed the biggest one? ;)
