I've always wondered what kind of pics I could get from a remote high country location I've passed through a few times while hiking over the years. I assumed I would not get a lot of pics but could possibly get a dandy. I was wrong about the number of pics. The camera was mounted on June 22nd and it stopped taking pics due to dead batteries sometime in mid July at pic 7380 :yike:. I just retrieved the camera on Saturday (8/3). This location is a natural saddle pathway about 6.5 miles in from the nearest road and 6800' elevation. It's going to take me several days to get through all the pics but here is the start.

Oh come on! Only 1 pic on the first post :chuckle: tagging this, looking forward to the rest of the pics

This looks like the first buck again after a few days of growth.

It's going pretty fast, I had the camera on 4-shot burst with 30 sec intervals so I have lots of repeat pics.
-
I think he has the camera figured out because he keeps posing for it.
-
Finally a new buck arrives
-
Looks like a showdown for the 4 lb selenium salt block.
-
It's getting crowded.
-
Three point is running the show.
-
Looks like a new buck? Not a good scoring buck but he has good height.
-
Awesome thread.

Tasty salt

I have a few places similar to this that I have always thought about putting a camera... I think you just convinced me to give it a try!
-
This is interesting, in the very back right, past the buck walking away and behind the bush looks like a very nice buck. You can see his rack in the first pic but he turns and lowers his head in pic 2. He is gone in the next set of pics.
-
That's cool. Thanks for sharing.
-
Got an itch?
-
Hundreds of pics of these guys taking turns on the 4lb selenium salt block. Best $2.99 I've ever spent. :chuckle:
-
What the . . . . . where did she come from?
-
Ah ha! Family photo.
-
July 7th is a busy day. The camera switched over to standard daylight mode. Lots of pics of the two fawns feeding while she takes in some selenium salt.
-
I thinks the fawns are confused. :chuckle:
Look at the buck in the back right.
-
Here he is again, upper right corner.
-
No breaks for mama :chuckle:
-
This three pt is very healthy looking for early July.
-
Here is my favorite series so far leading up to the money pic and my new entry in the trail cam contest . I'm about 40% through the pics and will continue again tomorrow.

After the doe sworped the buck this is what followed. I wonder if deer curse at each other. :chuckle:
-
Over the next couple days, a lot more of the same bucks.
-
I just went through a couple thousand pics and the bigger bucks have moved on. Nothing but does and pisscutters, lots of pisscutters, so many that I got 4 in one shot.
