What do you guys do to avoid them? I literally was bit probably 100 times when I was out yesterday. Its baddddd.
They were like swarms of bee's everywhere I went.
-
I use one of those Off Clip Ons and it actually works really well. It makes a small humming noise but at least I dont have to put bug spray all over me. Pretty cheap also.
-
I got some pictures Ill post up ina bit. But were doing like active hiking/moving around.

The scent doesnt mess with your hunting?

I use spray and when I am sitting Thermacell.
What kinda spray, Ive noticed some are very hit and miss as far as being effective.
-
Thremacell while sitting and spray walking in.

Get off deep woods and lay it on.
Sent from my space modulator.
-
Thermocell all the way, I dont leave home with out it.
-
I usually am wearing long sleeves and long pants no matter the temperature. While I am walking it usually isn't too bad. When I sit I put a hat and gloves on and then apply 100 Deet to areas not covered. Then ample amounts of cover scent around where I am sitting.
-
Thermacell-Definitely worth it. Mosquitos love me but not when I'm wearing it!
-
Long sleeves and 100% deet
Don't get 100% deet on your face it makes your lips numb and non functional. Trust me I know

:yeah:
And I just got back from fishing in Alaska and up there some of the guys we fished with had dryer sheet and just rubbed them on your skin and clothes and it really worked.

On my last bear hunt I used a thermacell for the first time and it worked great. They even sell refills now with earth scent so it repels skeeters and puts out a cover scent.

I use the outdoorsman stuff.
-
I use thermocell (spelling?) it works great and critters don't mind it at all!!
-
I use a thermacell whether I am sitting or walking. Works great both ways for me.
-
I use the Coleman odorless mosquito spray. It's not odorless, but they charge more for it, so there's that! :chuckle:
-
THERMOSCELL!!!
-
once more!! Thermacell!!
-
Does the thermacell need to be on your most outer laayer of cloths? Or can i clip it to my pants and have my coat/hoody on draped over it?

:bdid: YOU WOULD CATCH ON FIRE :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
Thermocell has small propane canisters that heats the pad that repels the flying insects.

Yes it has to be on your outer layer, not really a flame but the propane heats some metal that definitely glows.

Bug X wipes (http://www.coretexproducts.com/bugx (http://www.coretexproducts.com/bugx)) to keep them from biting & thermocell to keep them from harassing you.
Trust me the BUG X wipes work great, one application lasts approx. 7 hours.

Thermacell is all I use. Just sit it beside you when sitting and you're good to go. Wind can make it less effective but there are usually less bugs the stronger the wind. I run long sleeves and pants no matter the temp too.
