Two years ago I started hunting after a friend talked me into it. It wasn't hard to talk me into but that friend never really hunted with me after realizing a family friend was a serious hunter. So although he got this cool mentor, I got stuck. I hunted anyway mostly solo but had no luck. My second year I drew multi-season (kinda by accident as I was trying to build points) so I bought a bow, practiced excessively and hunted modern firearm and archery for deer. Elk was just modern. So after two years I finally started to find good ground in the Skookumchuk GMU but have now moved North to Auburn area.
I already know I am behind the eight ball with no scouting, but I am looking for meat not necessarily your trophy, so any ideas on where I might look close to Auburn would be appreciated. I am new, but very serious and would love to show the wife that the money for this sport goes somewhere productive. Any help from the experienced would be GREATLY appreciated.

I'm in a similar situation. My partners either have other hunting plans or don't have enough vacation time. I have drawn the once in a lifetime moose tag and don't have a hunting partner to share the experience with. I also don't have enough room for over 500 pounds of moose meat. If you're looking meat and want to share in this special hunt, we should talk.
Let me know if you're interested.

I did and I'm not getting any responses there either. Any suggestions? I really don't want to do this hunt by myself. I would jump at this opportunity, I can't believe there aren't others that love to hunt just as much as I do.

:bash: My Dad put in for moose tags also. He asked me if I would go. I said OH HECK YEA!!.. :) but then he didn't get drawn. So.....when I bought my tags, I got westside Elk since I wasn't planning to go East. Now something like this........ :bash:
When Dad asked I checked and saw that pretty much EVERYTHING ON LICENSE was open during Moose. I cant think of a better way to try and fill the freezer, and help someone else do it too!

Its not that no one wants to, because I'm sure they're would REALLY be alot of takers if it wasn't for peoples morals/ego etc. No one likes to really intrude on someone else's hunt, some people just don't know much about moose hunting either.
