went out to 18 today and only one sing, scat. berrys are ok. where are the bears at. going back tomorrow with the 9 year od to hike up more.
-
There are bears all over in that area. Just because you don't see them doesn't mean they are not there. Bears have good senses, are often noctournal, and have a big home. They don't come easy: you may spend a lot of time finding one.
Good luck.

I went the first yellow gate. Going over east this weekend to lake kachass for fishing and hoping to fill a bear tag

:yeah:
:dunno:
I thought it was common knowledge.
-
But only when there's 10 or more trucks, otherwise it won't be any good. :chuckle:
The first yellow gate... That would be the power station gate? A stones throw from I-90 and 18 intersection?

I was up Taylor mountain this morning. Decent amount of sign, tons of berries, but no luck. Had one about 20 feet away but the jungle of brush was so thick I couldn't do anything about it or move around somewhere for a better angle.

The other day I was glassing an area from a slash pile when I heard about a 350lb black bear in the berry bushes behind me. My rifle was about 50 yards away in the truck so I didn't know what to do. Didn't have my phone on me to ask hunt wa but luckily it never came out. This was north of highway 12 and east of 18.

just spoke to the local officer concerning some elk calf's i found poached and dumped, he said taylor mtn bears seem to have migrated across the street this year to tiger so time to go get a bow or smoke pole instead so you can hunt them

Are semi-auto pistols allowed in firearm restricted zones? Also, my only shotgun is a Savage 24c 22lr/20ga over/under, any thoughts on legality of using that as long as I'm not carrying any 22lr rounds?

semi-auto is not legal in restricted gmu's. Your o/u should be legit. Or even a crossbow during modern season.

Good story, but you really shouldn't give out my secret spots. North of Hwy 12 and East of 18 is my favorite hemisphere

hope you don't hit a shoulder. :yike:

Ha, Ha, that's funny KC... are you serious? :dunno:
-
well you didnt quote anything so i assume you mean my last post, the discussion with the officer. yes he said the numbers and sightings this year have been few and sparse. he said usually they are responding to a ton of calls for them but not this year they seem to have largely migrated either to tiger or into the king county parks boundary.

Ya know, I drive I-5 to work every single day and I never have seen a bear. There must not be any bears in Snohomish County either!
