Nope, but I have been looking at them online and read a few good reviews.

Yep, have been reading all the gun writer reviews, just wondering about real user reviews.   Read one that said he thought the 17 hornet would be a better choice. And I have read where the Winchester ammo, is suspect of being not uniform. :dunno:  might have to wait and see if another ammo maker starts offering it.  I do like the rotary mag on the B-mag. and the price is cheap enough.
Shells are available in Moses Lake, just haven't seen the rifle available yet.

buddy of mine just picked up two!  I've been waiting for one since Feb. with no end in sight, so my buddy was good enough to give me one of his, just have to get to Spokvegas to pick it up.

Hornady makes the ammo for Winchester or, Hornady developed the round for Winchester. I forget which way.

I've paid $ 13.99 up to $17.99 per box. If you can find any ammo for it, buy it.

Don't think Hornady makes any wsm ammo and it's my understanding they won't.

Not yet rasbo. Seems like you can either get the gun and no ammo or ammo and no gun. Weird for sure. If I get a coyote with it, I'll post a picture if it isn't too gross for the kiddies to look at........haha !

A local guy got one, and showed how flimsy and rubbery the plastic stock was.  It's not even reinforced plastic--just plastic.
He couldn't get it to shoot to his liking, so he promptly sold it.  Maybe if somebody else besides Winchester makes ammo for it, it might be good.  Otherwise it will go the way of the 5mm....  :dunno:

How do you roll off something new when all the ammo being produced is being sold? Pull a machine making nail gun blanks and start making a different bullet. I think its a neat idea, and if the ammo isn't too expensive it may stick around. (It may stick around longer if the machine can do runs of bullets and also make nail gun blanks.  :twocents:)  I don't think Winchester will try and keep this bullet to themselves, but how many rimfire nail gun blank manufactures are there?

Ya!! We turn 400-650 a day bolt guns with 17M2 and 17 HMR. With Auto's you can turn near a 1000 a day but yer finners get sore loading the mags. Center fire we turn 200 plus a day on PD's. But it is sure good practice, makes the 200-400 yard shots on deer or Elk look a lot better.

Have notified 3 local gun shops that I want one, and it appears even the HIGHest priced one in Moses Lake , can't come up with one. Maybe by Christmas ? MSRP less than 340, and nobody pays MSRP. Or shouldn't . IMHO.

This gun is the biggest firearm disappointment I have had. This new savage b model makes aR ed Ryder look like a Cooper. Stock is pathetic and accu trigger is a joke. I am sure this cartridge will be devastating on the little vermin but savage definitely dropped the ball on fit/finish and quality. With some work maybe it will group close to a 17HMR.

I feel the same way. Savage could of made a better gun, but I know they did it to keep prices down on them.
I noticed right away that the gun wasn't up to most peoples expectations in the craftsmanship fields. It still shoots pretty good for what it is.

I have put about 120 rounds thru it. Removed the accu joke trigger and it's starting to get a little better. I'll give it a few hundred more rounds before I call it quits.  The gun does shoot better after every cleaning. I think the barrel did not have a real good finish. The 20grn shoot much better than the 25. Have not tried the 20 grn hollow point yet.

well, i dont like the gun.  seems that all the new stuff ive bought this year just sucks.  need to stick with tried and true.  anybody else have a problem with their empty shells wanting to stay in the barrel?  and speaking of barrel, how do you get it off the stock?

anyway im going to send the gun back to get the ejection problem fixed.  once thats good im selling it.  as for ammo, i have 7 boxes of 25gr and 5 boxes of 20 grain.  ( shot maybe 6 rounds of the 25 grain tho ) that ill sell the whole mess of for $150 if anybody wants it, i can meet them in colville or kettle falls.  if ya want it just pm me

Depends a lot on which model Savage and what you are going to trade.  I bought one two years ago for $160 (used but in VERY good shape), from a member of the PM forum.  It's a good shooter after I put a decent trigger, (Rifle Basix) in it and ran a couple hundred rounds down the pipe.

If I don't have too much coffee in me, and have a calm day, five shots at 100yds will have two or three touching with Hornady 17gr V-Max.  A dime will cover all five holes completely.  Winchester ammo will shoot around 1 1/4" groups.  It won't shoot the Remingtons under 2" ever.  Mine is  VERY ammo sensitive.

Great Sage Rat gun!

I have one and really like it so far. I haven't shot anything with it yet. The gun looks cheap, but shoots nice and flat and fast. I've amassed 850 rounds of ammo, so I'm just waiting for winter to put it to the test.

You could probably get 2 Savage .17 HMR's for $309.00.  Incidently, I bought my CZ .17 HMR with scope for $300.00.  (Don't buy a rifle from a benchrest shooter unless you plan on doing some readjustment on the trigger pull.)   :chuckle:

Yes, the Savage is CHEAPER, in more ways than one--the CZ is a lot nicer, and well made, but no more accurate than the Savage.  Of the two, I prefer to shoot the Savage.  And I can't really say why!  :dunno:
