Title kinda says it all. I usually archery hunt, but haven't gotten my tags yet this year. I am getting tired of the early season heat. It kinda takes the fun out of the hunt. And the last couple years while taking my son out during late modern we have been in the rut during the late season. Thinking of hunting then. Big drawback is can't shoot a doe, and I really enjoy hunting the late season snow.

Ran into a guy last season archery hunting 454 during modern season. He claims its the best time to archery hunt.

Tried it one year and did like hunting the rut. However, with the number of hunters rifle hunting, and the big bangs I stopped. It might just be me, but stalking a deer to get into bow range and having someone 300 yards away shoot at it just kinda scares me.
