Title: Toutle/Loowit 3000 Rd.
Post by: Dadbear on October 27, 2008, 12:04:33 AM
On opening morning, do some of the elk in the Toutle unit blow out and pile into the Loowit north across the 3000 Road?
Any info would help. Thanks....DB

I'm sure some do...I've never witnessed it.

I don't think I would bank my opening morning hunt on waiting for them to cross the road...

But if I had the Pumice Plains Tag, I might check it out....

I'm gonna go look at the boundries for your unit.  I'm curious.

Not sure about them leaving the Toutle, but one year, watched about 50 head leave the Marble, when you could drive up the Upper Fossil Creek, and cross over and then stop and start feeding in plain view.  Like they were laughing at the hunters.
