hey guys just checkin in quick....
im back for a couple days to pay bills and trying to leave again wed after work.
the last 10 days was the best time of my life.
we saw a ton of animals and hiked our balls off.....we were all over our GMU and in the last few days we started to dial them in as to where they were hiding. My brother and i had some very very close encounters and he even had a 5x5 and a spike in his scope on the second day. the 5by was just out of range and he made the right decision not wasting a tag on a spike. My dad and i saw some monsters that were about 2 miles away on the hill side. I guessed they were about 350 class definately ass scratchers. When the circus came to town on saturday the animals were moving around and being pushed in all directions.
i have over 600 pictures, my legs are rubber and i lost a few LBS's.
My dad is still holding down camp and i cant wait to get back there.
got home last night and hate being at work.....
i will give a full report after Nov 2nd cause its not over till the fat lady sings.
we have a lot of pressure with 3 bull tags but honestly even if we dont fill a one this trip has already been more rewarding than i could have asked for.
the memories, the stories and the great times with my dad and brother....
take it easy guys and i will get back to you guys soon.
ill post a few pics tonight when i get home.

Good job. Keep it up. The quality time in hunting camp with family and friends, is more important than any kill. love the positive attitude! Now, go kill a bull so you think about the hunt every time you look at the mount!
-
Yeah, i have come to realize more and more how special the memories and the time i spend with my dad and brother are.
my grandma passed away towards the end of september and it made me really realize how short life is and to not take special time with family for granted.
We have had a blast so far and even though i have only been hunting solid for 3 years i have been taught by my dad since i was 10 that hunting is not about KILLING animals. its about so much more than that.
I enjoy explaining that statment to people who dont hunt when they say "did you kill anything"? i say "nope......and the trip was perfect."
they look at me puzzeled and i just smile.
:hello:
-
great hunt ...love how you are documenting everything. Hope you score...good luck.

my grandpa and uncle are also joining us around the camp fire for a night or two.
i called in some buddies to help me push maybe and i also called a local we met while scouting who is gonna give us a hand.
im leaving tonight and will be back sunday night so ill try and drop a report monday when i return to work.
So stoked to get over there....Im outtie guys!

ps. this hunt has already been more rewarding than i could have ever asked for and if we dont bag something it will still be so rewarding.
:hello: :hunter:

You know what I don't get... you had all summer to plan and you took several scouting trips, yet I can't figure out how you didn't secure the full two weeks off from work?
I think that would have been at the top of my list!
Good luck!

The hunt ain't over until you run out of legal daylight on the last day.
Take no prisoners !!!!
