A couple bears have been playing havoc with my beehives. These trail cam pics from last Sunday show me checking things out at 7:55. Then at 8:16, one minute past legal shooting, this bugger walks by for a portrait. I swear these SOBs own calendars, watches and WDFDW pamphlets.

It seems like bears would be a bad mix for someone owning bees. I keep thinking of Winnie the pooh for some reason.

"Say hey boo boo....lets get a picnic basket." Mmmmmm honey and bears, sounds great.

Are beehives considered baiting? :dunno:

Looks like a decent sized bear.

I spoke with a Sgt. At the WDFW about my "situation" and was told that shooting a bear over my beehives would not be considered baiting. I asked that question specifically.
